people don’t like reflect chance,
so what if esword, capsword, and edagger were changed to split bullets(not sure about lasers, maybe thought should still reflect, i dunno)
and for ninjas, they could instead of reflect bullet, they could have a native dodge chance (chance for the bullet to just pass over the sprite and say “miss”)
I think it would be helpful if you explained the issues with reflects more.
Is it just that getting hit with your own bullets stings and makes people unlikely to attack someone with even 25% reflect or is there something more?
Yea my mistake.
I personally don’t have a problem with reflects, but I’ve heard some people don’t like it, I think one thing had to do with "it doesn’t feel that great to have an entire volley of bullets fly back at your face”. I just thought it would be a good idea to mention some things that came up about it during a conversation.
The main issue most people have with reflects is that it just feels like shit for your opponent to entirely negate the perfect magdump into their face just because they got lucky. I’ve seen entire Drozd magazines get reflected by lucky esword/eshield nukies.
Maybe weapons could only reflect their own material ? E-Swords would reflect lasers and physical swords deflect bullets.
Kind of like how it works in star wars.
Slugthrowers were surprisingly useful against lightsabers, as when a slug flying at high speed made contact with a plasma blade, it would simply melt instead of being deflected like a typical blaster bolt. Molten vapor fragments and/or shrapnel could then scatter towards the face or bare hands of the lightsaber user, and cause harm if they were not careful.
