Username: BailensdeLykenos

Ban reason: Self antag: Spilling all the jugs of meds after security took their contraband. Banned indefinetly due to history of offenses.
Length of ban: Indefinite
Ban Issue:
I did what I was banned for, but the ban is unreasonably harsh

Vote Opt-Out: false

Events leading to the ban

At roughly ~10:00, Captain’s Locker is stolen in a power outage. The clown, a thief, and one self-antagger are arrested. Code Blue is called.

32:25 on Leviathan (65401) Security Officer (Alex Newbern) says : “Who got Cuban Jack?”
32:27 [Kevin Swankmann]: “Me”
At 32:50 Security Officer Alex Newbern can be seen searching Janitor’s Closet.

  • NO RADIO COMMUNICATIONS FROM SECURITY

At 33:00 Sec Off Alex Newbern heads north to Medical. There is no radio chatter indicating a threat in medical, nor has there been an order/warrant to search Chemical.
At 33:20 Sec Off Alex Newbern tries to preform strip search on Felix Jeager, but fails to catch his attention.
At 33:30 Alex Newbern enters medical and attempts to use the crew monitor console
At 34:05 Alex Newbern says:
[Alex Newbern]: “CMO”
[Alex Newbern]: “I need to search your chemists”
=Felix Jeager is searched, no contraband found=
At 35:00 Alex Newbern tresspasses into Chem and says:
[Alex Newbern]: “Jared”
[Jared Moore]: “Whats up”
[Alex Newbern]: “I need to search you”
[Jared Moore]: “For what?”
[Alex Newbern]: “We’ve been getting some concerning reports”
[Jared Moore]: “Get outta here, i been doing my hard work”
[Jared Moore]: "About what??
[Alex Newbern]: “Bomb making”
[Jared Moore]: “This is Chem”
[Alex Newbern]: “Were on blue”
[Jared Moore]: “Everything is a bomb”
Jared Moore is arrested for failure to comply. During the search, Security finds 1 pair of Combat Gloves. Jared Moore explains they are maints loot. Kevin Swankmann proceeds to harass the Chemist, telling them “i don’t consider maints diving hard work” and “unless you can teleport and open the locker, you aren’t getting them back.”
Chemist Jared Moore returns to Chembay, cusses out the CMO, proceeds into the Medical Triage, and throws every jug of medicine onto the floor. They are beaten by the Medical Team to death, and arrested once more.

[Administrator] ; “why did you spill all the jugs in med?”
[BailensdeLykenos] ; “as a chemist, they’re my responsibility, I’ll do what i want with them”

Reason the ban should be removed

At roughly 33 minutes into the round, a Security Officer took advantage of the Code Blue strip search rules to preform a full departmental search with no basis or any reason.
They claimed this reason was “bomb making”, but after combing the replay, i can find no instance of ANYONE reporting a bomb threat in medical, nor do i see any radio chatter about it on Security’s behalf. (may be handheld radio’s, not familiar with how to use replay mechanics)

They proceeded to (from my point of view) make up a reason as to the search (bomb making) in order to get compliance. The administrator told me “They are allowed to do that” in the ahelp, which i completely disagree, i think that making up reasons to do a search is against Security code of conduct and qualifies as self-antagging, or at the very least, shitty behavior.

Thankfully, Med had experienced people that shift who fixed the chem situation within a few minutes. I wanted to get back at Security, and rather than explode myself or foam-bomb them, i chose to sabotage the medicine as my form of protest. I chose to undo my work, as any disgruntled employee would do. No major damage to station or crew harm was caused.

Two minutes after my arrest, Nukies call goes out, and the round proceeds into an NRP ruleset. If i had waited 5 minutes for the Nukies to be revealed, i could have walked into an Open Access Sec, and took the gloves back with no issue.

If i had been more patient and instead embarked on a side-quest to take back my gloves instead of getting pissed about it, I would not be writing this. The CMO and Med team gave me many praises and thanks for my work just moments before this incident happened.
It is worth noting i hadn’t had any issues or remarks the past month(s). The last ban i received was for opening fire in a hallway after a Revolution had ended.

I think its about time i deleted these appeals and my account but i don’t think you physically can on this forum…

I guess it must be some combination of player dynamics, or rule specifications, that causes me issues. Most of my warnings and bans are either for carrying the wrong equipment at the wrong time or saying the R word.

Ive put in well over 1,000 hours into this game and its various servers, and because of a handful of negative or stressful rounds that resulted in a ban in the past year, i decided i don’t think its fair to force admins to waste time deliberating like some circut court judicial review over the most ridiculous of cases.

There are people who practice malicious compliance in this game. They purposefully keep an eye on any behavior that breaks any ingame rule and make a report to either ingame security or the admins in an attempt to start conflict or see people get demoted/banned. I think this ban evolved from one such instance. That does no excuse my self-sabotage of undoing my hard chem work.

I think because of my “history” i should remain permanently banned.
