Events leading to the ban: l I was playing cap on a fairly boring shift. Pun pylon confirmed via emotes and pointing he wanted to be HoP. Seeing as just a few rounds ago we had at least 5 hops, pun pun was one of them, I figured it should be fine and kinda funny. Hop didn’t exactly disagree but wasn’t to keen on the idea but assured him it would be fine. Pun pun got a fancy uniform and hop access, and later a command headset. I continued on my captain duties after this, but revived multiple complaints about it. Form what I could tell pun pun was spamming uniforms and screaming over coms. I had to deal with stuff so it was a little bit before I could remove his acsess. I will say the crew reacted very negatively to me giving pun AA, like more so then expected.
Reason the ban should be removed: For one, one of the main reasons behind the ban was past warns and shit, despite them being about 100 hours of playtime ago. The relevant note was probably when I promoted someone doing a plant gimmick to head of plants without going through cap or hop (as HoS). For another, I was under the impression the crew would be fine and that it wasn’t against rules considering the previous rounds. I also don’t understand how pun pun being a shitty HoP warrants me being punished for promoting him. I do see the reasons in the ban but I just feel 15 days is way too much considering how I play a decent amount. Aperantly several people Ahelped this despite it barely effecting them aside from maybe a ook over coms once in a while.
This has been put to an admin discussion and vote and we have come to the consensus to reduce the ban to 1 week.
The reasons provided in the discussion for this decision were the following:
- Although putting pun pun in to the hop position can have a comical outcome this appears to have almost caused a riot and generated a bunch of aHelps. It can be hard to determine the quality of the pun pun player just by the random monkey accents.
