Doctors have no good options for organizing chemical jugs

at a certain point in medical you dont even look for the labels I can go, orange thats bica, that bold blue, thats saline, that pink one thats lepo, and so on and so forth. I had a shift today where we had no label gun and until a second medical staff showed up i had no label jugs~ then we got a label gun and fixed them heh. but this is a skill that takes a very long time to gain a Jug bin could be neat though. it would need to be lockable like a locker, and get chems out like it as well but mouse sabotage proof and portable for evac to replace locker meta though.

I wonder if the chems shelf could be refitted for this kind of use?
Or maybe like a “dispensary” chemists could have access to a backend allowing them to insert, remove and reorder jugs while a front end could be accessed like an inventory but the jugs can’t be moved around, only interacted with.

This sounds like two separate issues.

  1. Player retention: Medical is not the most player-friendly department. Experienced players may not always be patient or helpful. New players tend to get overwhelmed at medical knowledge. It takes lots of time to treat patients in the least amount of time as possible. How do you keep players coming back to medbay? By creating a learning and responsive environment. Medbay may not be easy, but speaking about your knowledge encourages healthy conflicts between medical players. This fosters an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual respect.

  2. UI/UX design: I got a couple of questions for coders/designers. Would it be possible to make the menu displays all chems in one click?

@northerndakotas’s Chems Cabinet gave me some ideas. What if someone could make lockable glass cabinets with separate slots to put each jug in? I love how practical and colorful the Chem Cabinet is, but some LRP players may not appreciate and sabotage the jugs.

You mean like a locker with a grid-based inventory?

yeah If we want to stop locker meta the container will need to;

  • Be easy to transport, so much like the chems locker it can be taken to evac.
  • Be lockable to prevent theft like the locker
  • Wrenchable to prevent folks stealing it during round like a locker.
  • Be able to fill needles directly from them like they do with the chems in the locker
  • Have a better UI than the locker

I think the Chem Dispenser UI is extremely good for quickly get chems. displaying the color of the chem and its label, but it fails on trasportability and lockable and extractable. a Modifed chem dispenser to allow needles to work on it and be locked by med-staff could work rather well
