I did what I was banned for, but the ban is unreasonably harsh
Events leading to the ban
At the start of the round I was doing what passengers do, tiding around and getting tools, was planning to build some stuff. Then I noticed a guy following me way too much, so I started to get suspicious. I was being Bilboy’s name in reverse, goofing around saying I was his son from the future or something. I end up finding a guy who made an I.D. gambler so I let him use mine, got engineering access. I went to engineering and tided for materials and whatnot. An officer saw me leaving, took the liberty to arrest me after a good chase (Slipped them up, took their disabler then baton after that. They ended up shooting me a lot, I got caught in disposals because there was an officer camping it). After being let go I continued to see somebody following me, so I decided my strategy at that point is to be safer inside of jail. I thought it would be some interesting roleplay and whatnot, and security would get somebody to Perma and be all hard cop on. So after getting let go I’d find myself getting arrested for other things, such as walking into an open mats room and taking some steel (still wanted to build something). I do a little song and dance chase again and get put away. After my timer’s done they ask if I just wanted to stay in jail or something, I just replied ‘why not’ and decided to grab some salv’s I.D. they put on the ground. They book me for secure trespass (I was already in there but okay) along with major contraband. I got perma’d. I would sit in perma until it got rodded, in which I would leave and try to go hide in the library lest my killer or security found me. I got found by the boys in red first, which they’d arrest me. Upon getting dragged off to the shuttle my killer strikes, almost kills me and fails in the attack (thankfully, looks like my plan of being surrounded by security worked). I get tended to and put on the shuttle. People got pretty maldy in OOC chat after the round, but my plan worked, and for all intents and purposes I did what MRP required me to do.
Reason the ban should be removed
I don’t agree with me being Dewhitelisted from mander. I took the steps necessary to discuss with security what I thought was relevant to the conversation and reasonably roleplayed out all of my interactions with anybody on the station. Besides, would they even believe some passenger walking up to them and telling them ‘somebody is following me I think they’re trying to kill me’. If anything, I think that a little breaches meta, knowing in my mind of minds that really they’re a syndicate with a kill objective on me. I can’t just, tell them that. Besides, knowing the people on security that shift they’d probably just arrest me for disruption anyhow, since I’m making callouts about somebody trying to kill somebody with no real base.
I thought it would be some interesting roleplay to have a little repeat offender passenger who committed no violent crimes and just, was fairly easy to arrest. Besides, people have slipped officers and taken their shit a million times, I’m not the first. It’s in my character’s reasonable interest to try and get into a jail cell as fast as possible, in order to be safe. I did what I needed to do without killing anybody, hell, I don’t think I even hit anybody.
As for the part about being ‘named themselves after another character for the express purpose of making them uncomfortable’. I’d love to know if there actually was a complaint from Bilboy. I’m sorry IF I did make him uncomfortable, however I think in the end he thought it was a little amusing. The intent of the character name was to simply make a silly poke at Bilboy and his antics. The whole ‘being from the future’ part was just improv to make people giggle.
The self-antag part doesn’t really fit the bill. I think being a ‘self antag’ is like, fucking beating people to death and escalating and stealing real shit and doing traitor esque things. I stole some steel from mats, I microwaved gambled my I.D., I slipped an officer and took their disabler/baton. I picked up an I.D. laying around. None of those things are like, shooting somebody, toolboxing them, taking station critical infrastructure, grand theft/larceny. None of that. I think a 24h ban is pretty insane, especially because I haven’t seen any warnings on my player card before on this.
As for the admin who banned me for this. I don’t know if this person was present in the round or watched a replay on it. However, I have some general ideas as to who the complainant might’ve been.
