PAIs can be inserted into PDAs. PDAs have apps on them such as the crew manifest, the notekeeper app, the new Nanotask app. Why not let PAIs have access to these apps while installed in a PDA? It could be a cool way to give the PAI more to do, and let it act more as an assistant. You could ask PAI to write down a note to remember later, or ask them to check the crew manifest while you’re busy.
And why limit this to just the default apps? There’s many different department-specific apps that can be installed, why not let them use those too? A salvage PAI could read off coordinates while their owner’s hands are too full to hold their GPS. Maybe a medical PAI could scan patients in a small radius.

Being able to read out the news would be fun.
If we ever get PDA messaging it would be cool to be able to send and read messages on behalf of the master too.

Big yes.
Master should also be able to control pAIs permissions for the hypothetical messaging system, for example by default only letting pAI read but not write messages. Same thing for radio access as well. Let pAI read but not respond on masters radio channels unless master gives perms.
even funnier if a pAI could access your uplink so you can tell your pAI to buy shit for you ahead of time in ceartain cases.
being able to use a multi-tool on our PDA to link things could be cool, giving them the ability to open or close or bolt doors.
