Art Ultman is a grizzled station engineer with a cigarette perpetually hanging from his lips, more concerned with fine-tuning the station’s power factor correction than whether his co-workers are still breathing. He speaks in muttered calculations and exasperated sighs, only truly animated when ranting about inefficiencies in the grid or some rookie overloading the singulo. If an explosion rocks the station, he’ll glance up just long enough to confirm it didn’t come from the substations—after all, life support is secondary to a properly functioning power system
