On average, how many hours do you expect to admin per week: 6

How old are you? 20
Do you have any SS14 experience outside of Wizard’s Den servers, or any SS13 experience? A bit in other servers but not to much. I mainly play on Wizard’s Den as I like the vanilla experience most.
Do you have prior administration experience (SS13/SS14 experience preferred, please also post a way for us to verify this)? No I do not have admin experience.
Have you ever been banned from any SS14 or SS13 servers? I have not been banned before.
What are you primarily interested in doing as an admin? As an admin I plan on making sure everyone is having a good time. I want to make sure the RP is going smoothly and everyone is having a good time. I’d be ready to help anyone with there problems with others. I would also like to do some fun events to spice the game up when people start getting bored.
What are you least interested in doing as an admin? Banning people and doing ban appeals. I don’t like that I will be preventing someone from playing. The game is fun for everyone but I have to do bans to keep it that way sadly.
Detail Questions
What role do you think game admins serve on our servers?
The role admins have are to make the game entertaining and keep the troublesome people out of servers.
Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14?
I want to keep a nice environment for people to RP and play on and make sure people keep following the rules.
How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the servers?
LRP is a mess; the current state of it feel less like RP and more like a VS game of syndicate and NT. The MRP is usually good unless it high pop than starts to lean on LRP more. Other than that the RP is really good and I enjoy the servers.
Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?
I think admemes and admin events do. They let others have something else to do that is really fun and engaging.
Have you ever had a negative experience in the game or with a game admin? If so what, if anything, would you do to prevent other players from experiencing this?
One negative experience I remember having when I was in an MRP server nobody was doing any RP. It was just straight up chaos and it felt like nobody cared anymore. I think what happened was that it escalated from one person doing it to everyone because that one person never got a warning/punishment. As an admin id try to do my best to spot these type of players that go out to ruin the game and at least warn them of there behavior.
Have you ever had a good experience with the game or a game admin? If so, what was it?
One great experience I had is when nukies and sec both RP. There was a nukie game where they where pretending to be centcom employees and everyone went along with it. Pretty much everyone in the game enjoyed it; even the nukies that lost loved it. The game was just great for everyone involved that round.
Scenario Questions
Scenario 1
It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to “do something funny”.
Honestly I would tell them no. Even though I can do funny things as an admin I dont think its right to ask admins to just “do something funny.” I wouldn’t give them any real warning unless they just keep constantly asking and begging. I think its good to be fair but also strict in a situation like these. For all I know these can be some new players that are excited to see the game. But again if I need to put my foot down I am ready to.
Scenario 2
This scenario takes place on LRP. The Head of Security has decided to coup the Captain. The Head of Personnel agrees with the Head of Security and has taken up arms in case it is necessary to aid in effecting the arrest of the Captain. The Captain is hiding with the Quartermaster in the cargo shuttle to avoid the Clown who has stolen the captains saber as a non-antag. There are five people named in this scenario. Please describe what actions, if any, you would take in relation to each, and why.
In this scenario I would try to talk things out to every single party involved. First off the clown is self antaging by stealing the saber (its contraband and weapon). I would check if they have any recent bans/admin remarks and figure out what to do from there. If the clown is clean and has none of them I’d just warn him not to steal a weapon again as non antag. If there is bans and admin remarks I would do what I think is right. A repeated offence deserves a ban as they keep causing problems. I would ask the HoS what cap did to deserve to get couped. If it is a actual problem that should NEVER happen I would ask a few more sources that could relate to the situation to get more proof and a more accurate story. If it something really bad I would issue a role ban. If its a simple mistake like maybe forgetting to pick up something (heck maybe this has something to do with the clown getting the saber) I would just tell the captain to remember they are put on a higher standard than the rest of the crew and to be more careful next time. Now if the HoS is doing it because they want to that is an instant role ban. You are not allowed to arrest the captain because you just think he deserves it. I would also check if the Quartermaster is involved in anyway as they are hiding away with the captain. From the way it sounds they are still just doing a normal RP and is hiding in fear with there boss. If he does have anything to do with the cap I would probably just issue a warning as it sounded like he wasn’t fully involved. The HoP helping HoS is a interesting one. For all I know the HoP has no information on whats going on. I would check with him and some other sources first before doing anything. What hes doing can either be a “be careful who you trust next time” message, a warning, or even a role ban depending on how much he knew before joining HoS in the coup. After this game I would go watch the replay to see if I missed any information and the events leading up to everything. I would readjust what punishments I plan to give based off what I saw on the replay.
Scenario 3
You are ahelping a player about an issue. The player has no prior noted issues. A few days earlier, an admin had told you that this type of situation should result in a temporary ban for a first offense, and you are confident that this situation is not substantially different from the type that admin was describing. During the ahelp, another admin pings you on Discord with a link to the ongoing ahelp and tells you to just indefinitely ban them and make them appeal. Excluding trialmins and headmins, all admins are equally “ranked”. A headmin is not currently available.
I would ask the admin on discord why it should be a perma ban. I would also tell them what I was told a few days prior to this so they know why im asking. I also would try to get in contact with the admin from a few days ago and ask for there opinion on the matter. I would weigh both options on this and choose what I best see fit to be the right punishment.
