so i wanted to introduce a friend of mine to the game and i was wondering if it counted as metagaming if i guided them on how to play the game while in a call with them.
The metacomming rule prohibits any external communication between two or more people who are playing the game on the same server. External communication is any communication that happens outside of the game. A incomplete list of external communication methods is:
- Streaming
- Video calls
- Voice calls
- Messaging
- In-person talking
- Smoke signals
If you want to teach your friend how to play, a method that would be allowed would be to not play yourself, but instead have your friend share their screen with you while in a call.
