Currently, meteor swarms regularly happen multiple times a round, occur across the entirety of the station, and can easily space multiple rooms/departments. Meteors can destroy important external equipment like solars, the salvage magnet, the cargo shuttle, etc., and are an instant kill if someone is unlucky enough to be directly hit.
Given that meteor swarms burden an already very overworked department (Engineering) and regularly interrupt the function of other departments, the current frequency of meteor events feels excessive. Making them significantly rarer would make them feel more like a novelty or a unique problem to solve, rather than a tax on a Station Engineer’s time.
(Also there seems to be a bug currently where 2 meteor chunks can occupy the same tile, which makes them very difficult to destroy. Something to look into.)
