NanoTask is a great little feature. Even though its not used all that often, I try to use it as much as I can. I have ADHD, which means short term memory is awful, and so having an in game solution is great.
the problem is, you have write the tasks yourself every round
Certain jobs on the station require you to do the same thing, every shift, from shift start. Atmos and Engi setting up power and distro. Chemistry doing chems. Botany making a bunch of compost. etc etc.
I think it’d be really great to have an “import tasks from file” option, like printers do, that lets you make multiple tasks at the start of the round, with one for each job you do, that you can just check off the list.
Even better if you can make subtasks, so lets say you’re a chemist and you have task: Make Dylo, then have a sub task for every step of that process.
It’d really just be tasks with an indent, that all get checked off if the parent task is marked as done.
I’m not sure how easy this would be, and if a single text file can support making multiple tasks. Maybe have it set up like a config file, so theres an high, med, and low section, and if you add a symbol to the start of a task, its a child of the parent before it in its section. And if there’s no parents, it defaults to being a parent task.
I’m really impressed by who made the lil NanoTask program, and I don’t want to pile more on the maintainers plate, but in my opinion its 1 feature away from being perfect, not just gameplay wise, but for accessibility.
