Ban reason: "Raider - Cutting wires as non-antag, lying in ahelp, claimed it was an accident but cutting was VERY deliberate"
Length of ban: Indefinite
Ban Issue:
I did what I was banned for, but the ban is unreasonably harsh

Vote Opt-Out: false

Events leading to the ban

I would like to preface this by saying at the time I had a total of about ~4.5hrs playtime on SS14 and had never played SS13 either so I was Incredibly inexperienced and was still seeing what could be done.

I was in a maintenance tunnel and had a toolbox and was just clicking on stuff when I clicked on the floor and noticed you could remove the metal grate, and then you could cut wires underneath the grate, I wasn’t aware that this would actually cut power from a large amount of the station, I had even tried to place them back but didn’t know how to as i am very new

Shortly after I was contacted by an admin and he asked me if/why i was cutting wires and i (this happened like a week ago so i might not be exact) explained to him that I was very new and didnt mean to cause the damage i had done, although i admit i may have come off as a bit abrasive, after which i was instantly perma banned with no warning.

Reason the ban should be removed

I would like to state firstly that im not a ‘raider’ whatever that means as i wasn’t doing anything bad on purpose and wasn’t associated with anyone else on the server, I’m aware that what I did was idiotic and i should have apologised first before anything else but being perma’d without warning despite being very new is incredibly harsh and (I believe) very unfair.

Has anyone looked at this yet??

This has been put to an admin discussion and vote of which we have come to the consensus to issue a voucher requirement for further appeals.

The reasons provided in the discussion for this decision were the following:

  • Likely an alt account.
  • Issue likely recurring.
  • Intent to grief.
  • Lying.
  • Lack of trust in appeal.

You may appeal your ban, but only at least 6 months after your last ban, and only with a voucher of good behavior from another SS13/SS14 server.
A voucher of good behavior should be obtained from a well-known or decently active SS13/SS14 server. If it is a mainstream server, we recommend using that server’s admin-help to ask for a voucher from one of the administrators explaining that you are trying to appeal a ban on SS14’s Wizard’s Den and want to show you have been a problem-free player during your playtime on the server. A voucher should be indicative of at least a few months of play. If the voucher is not from a mainstream server, let us know and we will figure out a way to verify it.

Appeal Denied - Voucher must be provided on any future re-appeal.
