Like what there were other enemies beside space carps and space animals, like pirates or rival space stations?
Personally when I play salvage I just want to mine and as a pacifist I really dont want monsters…
fair enough
but what if these pirates and rival stations, would give a ton of resources and money for the station, since they probably have a bunch of loot and goodies on them.
it’d proberably just motivate more pressure to do salvaging of things not mining based.. its already pretty hard.. I genereally can only get salvage time during low pop where folks are not bothered by me just getting bulk resources. kinda a shame given I also love cat ears and would love to get them but cant fight.
Dont get me wrong. more varriance in the threats might be pretty exciting for a more normal salvage and I think its a neat idea. Just doesn’t fit the play-style I like and.. well rarely get to play thanks to other salv.
noooooooo…
Having more mine oriented wrecks and more combat oriented wrecks would be the solution.(which is what they kinda are)
I think addition of something like high difficulty combat wrecks would be cool. So if you want hard combat, you go there for high reward and combat. And to bypass cheese strats, there should be ranged monsters combined with close quarter combat ones.
One thing i thought of during the power suits discuession was a non-spaced salvage bay. where it summons wrecked into a dock and you take them apart, as an alterative to magnets. but I felt it was off topic.
Ah the shipbreaker type of gameplay(deconstruct everything)

I’d like Raiders(as in pirates, not player raiders) as an antag for the station. As a mid round antag, or a ghost role it could be fun. Sorta free agents with an objective like “steal 10k worth from the station by any means necessary”. I do think salvagers already have enough dangers between the carps and the risk to be lost in space tho
