I propose to remove antifreeze as it incentivices people to drink it in real life and have long lasting health effects
Ive never seen a server rated below 16+ so this shouldn’t be an issue.
Not to try and be rude or say that is not a serious issue, but I think in a game where you can drink several other substances which are far more harmful, antifreeze is the least of our concerns in the grand scheme of things. Plus, yeah, the servers are 16+, so a majority of the playerbase is not at the proper drinking age yet anyway.

If you drink uranium you die. If you take too much medicine you die. Even if you drink 4+10 loko you die. Antifreeze should be removed or kill you in a sip because it’s very dangerous. Also it wouldn’t taste “warm” this could encourage people from drinking it in the winter instead of hot chocolate
I don’t think it should be removed for that reason. Seems silly. And if people actually drink Antifreeze irl because of a silly spessgame with a lot of other lethal drinks/chems/weapons/hazards? They can take their Darwin Award with them.
Also the recipe is literally Vodka, Cream and Ice. Not sure how that should be lethal

Kids could also hurt themselves with guns, so should be we also remove all guns? They could also hurt themselves with knifes and sword, so should we delete them too? They could also want to jump out into space, so should we axe that as well? And they might even want to hurt each other with combat mode, so does that need to go too? If we were to remove everything that would give kids the idea to do something harmful to themselves or others in real life, we would end up with 70% of the game gone.
This would be a fairly simple thing to change, but I think you’re the only one motivated to change it. I read somewhere in these forums that most pull requests are accepted, and I don’t think anyone is passionate about Antifreeze anyway. So learn some git and do it. It’s not that hard. I think. I don’t remember much of it. And the file you’d want to change is in Resources/Prototypes/Recipes/Reactions/drinks.yml. Just take a look at the file and you’ll understand it. There’s really no programming involved.
It’s probably best not to erase the antifreeze part, you can just comment it out putting hashtags at the start of the lines. Either way, it’ll remove the recipe from the game, but Antifreeze will still exist as a spawnable item. Now if you want to make it poisonous instead, you’d have to edit something in Resources/Prototypes/Reagents/Consumable/Drink/alcohol.yml. That seems more complicated to do.

I can see it both ways. On the one hand, I’m not on board with the “dumb people should die” sentiment. On the other hand, how far should we bend to accomodate the mere possibility of the unintended consequence of someone thinking the Antifreeze drink in the game is the same as actual antifreeze?
I encourage you to look at it another way: will Antifreeze be missed? If not, why not make that concession, as an act of generosity?

If you read Resurrect’s third post, you’d understand their point. All those things you mentioned are harmful in real life and in the game.
if my 3 year old son hops on lizard then is inspired to drink antifreeze, its fine. he can just say in deadchat “i died pls restart” then reset the simulation with a vote his fellow infants will immediately vote yes to.

It’s not people literally drinking antifreeze. It’s the name of the drink.
You can’t babyproof literally everything that may be of slight concern or even theoretical risk. Additionally, Wizard’s Den is 16+ - I don’t believe a 16yo drinking antifreeze because they saw it on a video game is a concern. Little Timmy might, but kids get banned pretty quick for… well, writing like children, and any poisonous substances should be well secured by guardians, not to mention the bottles literally say poison. Also, Little Timmy shouldn’t even be playing this game - parents should be watching their kids to make sure they’re not playing fucking Postal 2 or something. This is very much a game for mature audiences, too.
People can explode into steaming piles of gore, drink unholy amounts of alcohol until they die, overdose on over-the-counter medication until they die, do massive amounts of methamphetamine until they die, turn other people into burgers and eat them, shoot other people and cruelly laugh at them as the life leaves their body, etc. I think the name of a drink is a pretty minor concern.
