At what point is lethal force acceptable against non-violent offenders

I’ve seen and experienced a handful of times cases where sec have gone straight to lethal force against people who aren’t really armed or enacting violence on them, including:

  • Magdumping into someone until dead for picking their pocket (to the guy’s credit, HE DID take this person to medical for revival, but I’ve seen others do this and give no mercy)
  • Gunning down a serial escapee clown for escaping permabrig (they were not a confirmed antag though, just mischievous)
  • Gunning down a trespasser in secure areas (sec/brig & bridge)
  • Abandoning prisoners in dangerous areas - eg when brig is spaced

In all except except the first example sec failed to take the crit/dead person to medbay for revival and just abandoned them for others to collect best endeavours. Now I don’t begrudge sec taking the boot to shitters but simply the act of walking into secure areas seems a little… banal, to execute people over and takes a page out of the shitcurity (check bottom of page) playbook.

So I suppose my question is what the line is and the policy for those who round remove people for non violent offences and don’t make an effort to get them revived or borged at medical.
