Artyom is a middle-aged man who seems to be perpetually down on his luck. Talking to him in one of his bad moods you would swear trouble seems to find him regardless of his posting. Even though he has this metaphorical (and sometimes literal) dark cloud following him around, he does his best to make sure things were better than how he found it. This naturally led him to engineering, where his curiosity led him to learning how the station works inside and out. He may grumble and complain, but past all the rudeness you’ll find a guy who cares too much about the station and the crew, though good luck getting him to admit that.
