Cerberus Speed and Friendly Fire Change

Would be great if Cerberus were changed to be slightly faster than players. I think it’d fit for a dog but it also actually gives them a chance against sec and such, rn people can kinda just run away from em forever pretty easily.

As well making it so Cerberus can’t harm each other would be a great QoL feature, especially since only chaplain can buy em - I can’t imagine any scenario where a Cerberus would want to attack another Cerberus. Often when they mob a target they accidentally friendly fire and die really quickly.

Also when pet, it should bite and damage(5ish or less?) people instead. Its a damn demon from heck and its supposed to be KOS in first place, not some “cute doggie” to friendly antag grief with… though they are bound by familiar rules so responsibility is on their owner if those are their orders.

I like speed change idea because it gives players genuine fear and paranoia when “friendly doggie” is left unchecked.

I don’t think the dog is necessarily KoS if they aren’t doing anything bad? Although security is fine to make it the case prob, since it’s a literal demon from hell. I don’t think being able to pet the dog does much harm, just as you can pet syndiecats, it’s a fun lil feature. But not really the point of my post

Well, nukie might not be doing anything bad yet they will be KoS. IC you expect antagonists like nukies, demons, space monsters to behave like ones. Not doing so gets you banned on grounds for griefing antagonists, though Cerberi are familiars so they basically are to be treated like dangerous loud antags while having to obey your masters orders like “do not attack anyone”, though silicons can disobey unreasonable orders so maybe you do not have to just roll over and die if you get attacked just cause Father Syndicate decided to take a walk with their cute doggie.

I have seen plenty of drama and bans(and even admin/trialmin removed cause they banned familiar so fast for what they seen as friendly antag rulebreak) on Cerberi familiars that obeyed orders and acted friendly, though not sure if only their masters would bear full responsibilty for antag griefing if they gave them such orders back then.

I looked up the rules on familiars and they are marked as “non-antagonists” blanketly. While yes they come from a syndie item, they themselves don’t count as antagonists afaik, they go under the familiar rules, but kinda besides the point.

Also thought about it, not being able to harm their owner akin to a holoparasite (or hell even every familiar) would be awesome as well

And no way it’s me again, sorry can’t edit the main post. Found out entities can be given slow resistance against injury, that would also help immensely
