Changes to MRP ruleset

Following this request for feedback thread the following changes were made to the rules:

  • looc restrictions are now the same as lrp again.
  • Rule 2.12, Do not abandon your role, no longer has an mrp amendment,
  • Rule 2.13, Perform your role, once again has the mrp amendment of “This will be more strictly enforced on MRP.”

No this does not mean these changes are set in stone. They just reflect the votes. We may have future changes to the rules from the comments feedback.

I do have a little bit of feedback i’d like to give. Could we allow the use of titles in MRP? Things like having a paramedic be Dr or Doctor talyor. or a Sec only character have “officer” infront of there names. from a roleplay perspective I think it makes alot of sense, in some job roles in big corpations you may want to go by [Title] [Last-name] rather than [First-name] [Last-name]

That should just be implemented via code. This has been the position of the admin team ever since the removal of senior roles.

That would be nice, but isn’t in yet. while we can enter any name right now. The MRP rules say we’re not allowed to include titles preventing this work around solution, with that in mind would admin team be willing to temporally loosen the rules until the code implementation is added?

Theres nothing stopping you from referring to people as “Doctor X” or “Officer Y” regardless of their set character name.

Plus, making the title a part of the character’s name can cause issues. What if all the Medical Doctor slots are full, and Dr. Lastname joins the shift as a janitor? What if Officer Surname gets fired for misconduct? They’d still have their titles in their names despite not being in those jobs.

It is true nothings stops you from calling people Doctor x or officer Y but by having it in the name it shows a clear prefrence to those around you how you’d like to be addressed without the need for comincating that.

if you was rolling with a character with titles designed for certain roles you’d have the options selected as never for anything other than those certain roles and have stay in lobby if preferance is unavaiable on such as this;

As for if your fired, well even unemployed Doctors are still doctors but HoP can set your name to remove the prefix on your ID
