Alright so through out my vast gameplay of medical I’ve noticed a high decline of pills being made, and I’m pretty sure everyone whose played chemist for a good bit understand why that is, the buffer, the ChemMaster is made in a way to take a percentage of all chems in the buffer to make the pills, from my knowledge there is no way way to make it where it take’s specific chems from the buffer, “its all or nothing”.
Of course there are work arounds on some stations, not all. The stations which have three chemmaster and two chemist can effectively make pills, or medical can of course request science for a new chemmaster if sci has researched it, but the thing is even with these options chemist’s don’t make pills, are they just lazy? Well… possibly, but for me I think its just that pills don’t really have a use, like almost anyone can get access to a syringe and some crew members can even get they’re hands on jugs or make they’re own meds, its like pills have been forgotten, which is sad.
I’d like to hear other people’s reasons for not using pills too.
i personally don’t use pills because there’s not really any reason to, why make someone eat it and wait for it to metabolize when you can just inject it in chem form and they metabolize immediately
also people are just dumb a lot and don’t use the pills you leave out for them, why make them if nobody is gonna use them
there’s also moths which can’t eat pills, and a considerable amount of people will be moths on any given shift, further making them useless
Yeah to be honest solid answer, same here too, it just feels like pills have been forgotten though and its kind of sad, they do have good RP use, in MRP and HRP but not LRP.
pills need some sort of buff related to them getting metabolized in your body faster than just drinking a liquid, for now they are just clunky and not worth making. I mean you would still want some tric or dylo pills with you just in case but going to such lengths to actually produce it is not worth the effort. Also its easier to select the amount of chem you want to use with a syringe on jug since… you dont wanna always use up 20u of that chem
If you label them properly i can guarantee you that people will use them.
90% would reather take a pill and go than wait to get checked for something that they know what is the issue.
If you mark them “For bruises and cuts” and someone just got hit by a shovel, they will take it and use it.
If you mark them as “Bica” and leave them in the counter. Only those with med playtime will use them. And it also feels weird to just leave pills with the “scientific” names out for people to grab. Who are supposed to not know about the terms too well IC.
