Gabe is a middle aged engineering technician. NT recruiters remarked on his commendable service record as an enlisted fuel gauge technician for a space peace-keeping force. Now retired and looking for a second career, surely Gabe will be a valuable addition to the company. What NT might not have understood is that Gabe spent twenty years, not responsible for refueling operations like they thought, but for reading fuel gauges. Reading. Fuel. Gauges. Twenty years. Wasn’t allowed to touch the pump–that was someone else’s job. Gabe, thinking he’s been hired to reinvigorate NT’s gauge-reading workforce, is eager to start and in for a surprise come his first shift. Hopefully, he can fake it until he makes it!
