Remove traitor objectives from Mander entirely. Trust traitors to make their own fun within the rules. Instead, traitor on Mander can track the fate of common targets: did any of the heads die? Was Ian slaughtered for their Corgi meat?
Rework Mander traitor objectives to be more broad without entirely removing them.
Rework traitor entirely for MRP.
Shut down Mander/swap it to LRP-with-whitelist/etc.
There’s not enough maintainer capacity on Wizden to balance heavy MRP-focussed PRs that are used by less than one quarter of Wizden’s own playerbase, so smaller (YAML-based?) changes are pretty much all that’s possible.
Id rather do the opposite of this and give everyone objectives including crew.
Objectives are a touchstone for players to get round direction from.
Removing them is like removing the quests from an RPG.
edit: read the pr again, and I see this is just the endround text, but not the objectives themselves.
Salamander already has a dwindling player base. It’s been declining for months and I don’t think this is going to help that issue. This will just decrease player population in my opinion.
Yes, but in practice the round end screen is the most “exposed” piece of text. Allowing anyone to permanently put something big on the most seen part of the round is not something I would want.
It’s not exactly “anyone”. Given that it will be 100% CVar-able if I do this, and given that it will be only available on Salamander (which has a whitelist), it will have some preventive moderation measures.
Still, I do see the concern, so I will do this only if explicitly requested as a change for this PR.
Regardless of how players would feel about this change, this would be a step in the right direction for Salamander to become less greentext chasing and more about enjoying the chaos. Players that would leave for a change like this, in my opinion, are the problem with Salamander. Many of these players ignore interaction with the rest of the crew outside of doing the bare minimum to secure a greentext rather than having fun, often times meaningless, shifts.
