Events leading to the ban

I was playing a medical intern when a player who was playing a lizard was continuously playing the piano. My character, being naturally nervous, asked him to stop. When he refused, I took away the piano and hid it. He then pulled out a trumpet, and I responded by saying, “That’s typical lizard music, and I hate lizards.” He refused to stop, and the roleplay escalated into a fight. I won, and he fell into a coma. I then brought him back and treated him. He went to inform the police, and I served my sentence in prison (which created RP for everyone: the lizard, the police, and even a lawyer).

Reason the ban should be removed

I believe my actions, even though I insulted the lizard people, did not break the rules since I was sanctioned in roleplay and my character is a nervous and hot-tempered dwarf. It’s natural for him to insult easily. The issue is that I didn’t receive any message from an admin warning me that I was going too far, but being new, I might have missed them. Therefore, as a new player, I hope for a second chance to continue improving in the game and expanding my knowledge.

After placing this ban to a vote amongst the administration team, we have reached the decision to Accept this appeal with a Reduction.

The ban has been removed and replaced with a timed ban of a duration of three weeks. Expiring on 2024-07-09

The factors leading to this decision were as follows.

You must be aware, Speciesism is Not tolerated in any form on our servers.
We regard it with the same level of seriousness as Genuine Racism due to it often being a thinly veiled substitute for actual racial slurs.

Any further incidents involving Speciesism, Biggotry, Abelism or anything of that like will be met with Immediate indefinite bans.

There is no justification for this that will be acceptable. Whether you believe it would “fit your character” or not.
