In-game Username: You120
Discord username: Echo (tag: you120)
Characters you play: Nomo-Nur
On average, how many hours do you expect to admin per week: i plan to play around 14+ hours (Depends on the relevant schoolwork)
Days you are available to admin on: Monday to Sunday except Tuesday as I’m usually unviable that time.
How old are you? 19, but probably when this will be judged 20
Do you have any SS14 experience outside of Wizard’s Den servers, or any SS13 experience? I have played ss13 many years ago, but i wouldn’t consider it a factor as i don’t really remember much from that.
Do you have prior administration experience (SS13/SS14 experience preferred, please also post a way for us to verify this)? I have some experience on Admin roles, but not on SS13/SS14. (CS:GO JB server, SCP:SL, GTAV RP (all Hungarian)
Have you ever been banned from any SS14 or SS13 servers? No
Admins have the ability to perform various tasks which are not available to the average player. An incomplete list of these tasks is: in-game rule enforcement, in-game events, ban appeals, and out-of-game rule enforcement through things like replay/log reviews in response to player reports. With these, and any other tasks you’re aware of in mind, answer the following two questions.
What are you primarily interested in doing as an admin? Enchanting RP, like playing as CC (I want to exploit the RP from the fax machine in the CC room lol) And i like defusing anger between players and finding a calmer common ground so everyone can happily experience their part of the RP (I kinda like all of the admin work)
What are you least interested in doing as an admin? Speaking in English, as my reading and my listening is more than good in my opinion, but my speaking skill is not yet fully developed (not native speaker)
_ Answer the following questions in detail, so we can get a better idea of how you’d approach adminning. _
What role do you think game admins serve on our servers?
- Upholding the SAFE environment for every player
- Upholding the rules of the server
- Upholding the GAME part of the game, so everyone can have fun
Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14?
I want to be able to help in different situation and to be able to roleplay CC (mostly thro fax machine) while doing admin work, so the maximum RP quality can be achived
(Once i was HoP and we planed with some Command a mutiny against the captain, we were killed by merchenaries, it was one if not the best RP i ever gone thro (even the we lost))
How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the servers?
I mostly played on lrp, but too much self antag and shit happening there, so i’m mainly on mrp what is full of nice people.
Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?
- Talk / Warn (the fact that people watch our action can drastically change it)
- If warning or talking fails, a simple kick can reflect the fact that they overstepped and their action has consequences
- Temporally ban, as it will keep them away until they calm down, or feel the weight of their actions
- Parma ban, they are most likely never will be integrated to the community and they only take, and never give to community
(More options are there like to name one role bans, but they are specific for the situation)
Have you ever had a negative experience in the game or with a game admin? If so what, if anything, would you do to prevent other players from experiencing this?
constant self antagonizing, and just being shitty to others. i would wish for a strict PG rule so constant escape attempts (like just running and hitting the glass bare hand) would be against the rules
Have you ever had a good experience with the game or a game admin? If so, what was it?
Mostly with CC rp, they really can make a change in rm (in the good way) But i really like how in MRP people are more helpful, and catchy for a nice RP
The following are scenarios, respond with how you would handle each as an administrator. Respond with the assumption that you are an administrator with full access to the admin tools, and that you have all the knowledge needed to use these tools. Scenarios intentionally leave out information so that you can describe how different details would affect your response. Respond in detail, explain the reasons behind decisions you make and describe any assumptions you are making. When you need to make an assumption, it is preferred for you to describe how different assumptions would affect your actions.
It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to “do something funny”.
As admin i’m able to make the game round more unique and fun, but i’m not obligated to grand players wishes. The round just started and i will not do anything (in my opinions the longer the shift is going, more actively an admin should be able to influence it IF THE ADMIN SEES IT FIT.
So i would tell them that sadly i’m unable to do anything “funny” as the game just started, and i would advise them to take a ghost role, as they can be “funny” in the correct player
This scenario takes place on LRP. The Head of Security has decided to coup the Captain. The Head of Personnel agrees with the Head of Security and has taken up arms in case it is necessary to aid in effecting the arrest of the Captain. The Captain is hiding with the Quartermaster in the cargo shuttle to avoid the Clown who has stolen the captains saber as a non-antag. There are five people named in this scenario. Please describe what actions, if any, you would take in relation to each, and why.
WHAT THE HELL?, i mean yeah its a believable scenario on lrp but still, lol
HOS HOP scenario 1: Ademptions: (Hos and Hop has no RP reason to stage a coup only “for the fun” because of cap situation its effectively blue alert (if its not already))
I would ahelp hos and hop, for asking valid RP reason for their act (in this case they don’t have) and i would warn them about the escalation rule and the self antagonist rule especially in command role (i would do a note on their profiles so if it repeats itself other admins would know)
If they listen to me no further action, if they don’t a kick and a command role ban to them as its violate 2 significant rule (3 if we count the don’t be a dick rule)
HOP HOS scenario 2: Ademptions: (They have valid RP reason for the coup AND they are playing it with an RP that everyone could benefit as they fallow the escalation rule and they don’t want to just gun down the captain, and they are not arming up with heavy lethal guns only with non lethal and maybe small arm lethal)
(if they would arm up with heavy weapons i would warn them about that)
The RP is RP, they are mostly fallowing the Server rules and in my experience and if it is done right, coup attempts can make RP rich scenarios that many people can enjoy
(In all of this scenario the cargo shuttle is docked as captain can’t leave the station and it would make too much scenario if i would count this in too)
Clown cap scenario 1:Ademptions: (clown are doing clown things, and the captain is just RPing and alerted security to assist. (so its noth a death mach scenario just a overstepped clown prank and the captain look like doing their part of the RP)
I would do nothing, other than observe the situation, as its IC matter, no overstepping (like clown killing the captain or others) (QM is not a varieble)
Clown cap scenario 2:Ademptions: (Clown is being clown (not killing people or captain) but the captain seems to be frustrated as they don’t enjoy the RP because its in this case a unwelcome RP scenario. So i would ahelp the clown and i would ask him to return the saber and to look after the rules covering self-antagonists. (from here i would fallow the escalation rule for admins)
Clown cap scenario 2:Ademptions: (clown is being shitty, cap is unhappy about it)
I would ahelp the clown and i would warn them a litle bit tuffer than in scenario 2 (than i would fallow the escalation rule for admins)
You are ahelping a player about an issue. The player has no prior noted issues. A few days earlier, an admin had told you that this type of situation should result in a temporary ban for a first offense, and you are confident that this situation is not substantially different from the type that admin was describing. During the ahelp, another admin pings you on Discord with a link to the ongoing ahelp and tells you to just indefinitely ban them and make them appeal. Excluding trialmins and headmins, all admins are equally “ranked”. A headmin is not currently available.
I would ask him if he only saw the ahelp or he is in game, seen the whole situation and was aware of all detail, or he is in possession of information i don’t have about this matter. If he is not, and he has no more information about the case, i will fallow thro with my original admin decision as probably i’m the most qualified admin to do so as i have the most information about the matter.
(as the text stays, i’m currently in the process of collecting objective information, so i would be frustrated that an “equal” ordering me to take actions without proper knowledge of the case)
(exception of course if we are not “equals” but i would be still frustrated and probably ask them to do the ban themself or giving me an “order(ish)” so it will reflect my admin work)
