Events leading to the ban

About 6 months ago I found the template for this paper on a separate server. The paper was mentioning a specific mime player that was using a lizard character and saying this person is a threat. There was no speciesism during that event either, only two mimes having a friendly rivalry. I liked the graphic on the paper and thought it was funny, so saved it in case I thought I could ever share it around too.
So today, returning after a few month’s worth of hiatus from the game, I found the paper again in my files and thought other people might find it funny too (For the drawing alone, that’s like the only thing that made me save the paper). I didn’t want to share around this mime’s name, so I edited that out because I didn’t think it’d make much sense if they’re not on the server (and if they were, I wouldn’t want them to be targeted for any reason).

Reason the ban should be removed

If you look at my history, I have no previous behavior that reflects what I’ve done today and I’ve never looked down on any one playable species. I’ve never tried to roleplay as a speciesist in the game because I genuinely think that’s no different than being racist in real life. I don’t think any one playable species is better or worse than another.
The bottom line is that I didn’t consider the implications of the paper, genuinely; especially because of my months long break (and the fact that I only play the human characters) I completely forgot that a race called “lizard” even exists in the game.
I understand that the main issue is that I edited it to say that “lizards are a threat” but in my mind I read it as “Here’s a funny drawing of a real life lizard, and the text says that a small creature like that is a threat to our way of life. It’s cute”. I swear I didn’t even THINK about the lizard race in the game.
I’m terrible with words and wish there was some way I could prove it, but all I can do i promise you that.

You are right, however this is a zero-tolerance rule, which means we don’t give warnings for it first.

I find it really difficult to believe that you forgot about lizards being a playable species, considering the original paper was about a lizard mime. HOWEVER I will give you the benefit of the doubt since as you said before, you don’t have a history of this kind of rule break.

Next time you wont have this excuse, so do be careful with what you speak or write.

I will reduce your ban to a 7 day ban. appeal accepted
