Extreme heat is just plain stupid

you have likely had it happen before, a recent plasma flood happened that you were unaware of and it just cleaned itself up thanks to it burning up extremely quickly. One small issue, that hallway is now completely uninhabitable and will incinerate anyone inside in mere seconds without a fire suit (Often referred to as hellmaints if it occurs in maintenance). You, a new arrivals walk on to the station, see this hallway with some “Malfunctioning airlocks” on either side with no visible environmental hazard in sight, walk through the hallway and turn into ash or at best: die and get dragged to med with 400 burn.

My current issue with this scenario, even if uncommon is how there is only one visual indicator of the hallways instant death being the unreliable firelocks. There are no other environmental factors like melting steel, a mirage/heat haze, burning furniture, ignition of simple things like matches or environmental fire.
I made this topic to gather the consensus on how people feel on the extreme heat problem and how they think it could be solved.

I’d like to put a simple idea for consideration: Make fire cover the tile it’s on with ashy residue. Preferably stacking with more fire leading to dirtier tiles. That or burn marks from the tiles getting burned.
So if you see the entire floor covered in ash it’s a nice heuristic that fire probably occured there recently.
