Fixing the issue of being round removed/gibbed from syndies/zombies

It shouldn’t be any surprise by now that one of the most hated features in this game is gibbing or round-removals.

Let’s start at the most glaring issue: syndies objectives to kill or maroon.
Typically, if you are a kill target, you will end up being gibbed, and at worst, your brain will be eaten or taken away. Rounds typically last an hour or an hour and a half with the gamemode being selected at ~5 minutes in. Being round removed/gibbed not even 30 minutes in, or even less, is an awful experience. Being round removed at all is an awful experience.

How to fix it:
Make it so the objective will count when the player dies once and dies to that syndie (person who has the objective) specifically. This eliminates the need for gibbing/round removal completely. Worried about being tattled on once they’re revived? On MRP this shouldn’t be an issue due to a rule, however on LRP that rule doesn’t exist. For both however, it would be nice to see an item syndies can have for 2TC that would distort the words of the dead person. It will be an implant that cannot be removed and the syndie can input 1-3 words that will always get distorted when said/written by the person.
“Pamala Chaney killed me” → “Uhhmm something killed me” / “something something killed me” / “something killed me” / etc.
People trying to circumvent this by giving a description of the person instead of a name is up for debate honestly. It gives the detective something to actually do.

Zombies
Oh boy, zombies. Zombies will round remove those that are turned and end up dying. There’s very few times I’ve seen stations actually want to continue on playing to “fight back” the zombies, but always end up evacing because of the round removed people and you can’t do literally anything to get people back up and fighting again. We would probably see a lot less evacs and maybe even better gameplay for zombies if zombies simply had a way to be cured+revived after being turned.

How to fix it:
Obviously, you could just… bring back cloning. That’s too easy though (I don’t know why it was removed in the first place, so I won’t bother trying to bring it back)! Another way is to have an advanced chemical. The chemical would be used in cryo. A “cleansing” chemical of sorts. It should be an easier chemical to make than ambu+, but not too easy either like ambu. This chemical will “work” on head zombies, but the head zombie can still transform back into a zombie shortly after being revived (they have a cooldown). How do you make it so head zombies can still play the game? Ambu+. If a head zombie gets ambu+ injected into them, that chemical specifically should work on them and remove the virus within.

My issue is purely how easy it is. The reason cloning was removed was to “punish death more harshly” - however, killing remained insanely easy and RRing is just as easy. On top of it being omega easy to get away with it via just removing clothes, removing brain etc. I don’t personally gib and I still get away with murder and the people I hide will end up rotted or have already went cata from waiting to be rescued.

I wouldn’t mind gibbing if killing wasn’t so easy, it’s really that simple.

My proposal was that we either change the kill objective to where they lose or only half win if they gib or creating some sort of system where they need to bring the body to a drop zone/beacon, so there’s a CHANCE they are found. Especially if sec was notified.

While I also dislike it being so easy to round remove someone, I don’t think these are the answer.
If someone only has to die once but gets revived, the syndi didn’t really do their job did they? Yet if something else kills them and they don’t get revived, that’s an unavoidable red text. A word distorting implant is a neat idea but would be too easy to work around it.

For zombies that’s just kinda how they are and what makes them such a big threat.

Cloning was removed / made rare because it kinda invalidated most of medical gameplay and made death a non issue.

Maybe objectives could use some kind of overhaul, but I wouldn’t know what.

People trying to circumvent this by giving a description of the person instead of a name is up for debate honestly.

this would be laughably easy to bypass:
traitor john smith wastes 2 tc on you, you say JON SMMITH TATOR KILLED ME WITH ESWORD the second you get revived, not really difficult for anyone to figure it out

the actual solution is just traitor reputation design doc being implemented
