Detail Questions

What role do you think game admins serve on our servers?

Admins act as rule enforcers, ensuring rulebreakers face proper punishment and can learn from their mistakes, they can also act as guides at times for newer players.
Occasionally admins can be the game master, spicing up shifts and making them more fun for the players.

Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14?

I hate raiders and obvious rulebreakers with a burning passion, I wish to give out proper punishment to rulebreakers while also listing things they could do to Improve, as for raiders, I wish to watch them burn.
I would also like to be helpful to newer players on servers such as Hopper and to Improve rounds through admin Interaction.

How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the servers?

I can’t speak much for some servers, Hopper is relatively fine and even jumps up to MRP at times, I used to play on Lizard or Leviathan a year ago and back then It was tame, though as of recently I’ve heard multiple horror stories from both servers, from some time I’ve spent recently on Leviathan, It seems to be a mix of good and bad at times.

Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?

Admin Interaction, answering those red telephone calls or whenever the chaplain prays to the gods for divine Intervention, they can have a huge positive Impact on the round, they can equally be negative, It’s up to the admin to decide when or if to Interact.

Even a silly announcement from Centcomm can have a positive Impact on the shift.

Have you ever had a negative experience in the game or with a game admin? If so what, if anything, would you do to prevent other players from experiencing this?

Not really.

Have you ever had a good experience with the game or a game admin? If so, what was it?

I’ve had a few, I don’t remember all the details but there was this Deathsquad vs station round where the admin flung Bluespace artillery at us (Meteor Event) and then sent in ERT to deal with us.

Towards the end of the event, I was selected as a Deathsquad Major bluespacing into the station, I ended up slaughtering a few folks and then dying to a stunlocking Ninja that had a bomb, In Ghost form I saw a passenger in full DS gear with ERT and Deathsquad weapons solo’ing the entire event.

That was the event summarized, a lot happened and it was a ton of fun

Additionally having admins put the “KILL” mark on raiders and hunting down said raiders with my fellow Secoffs on Hopper.

Scenario Questions

Scenario 1

It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to “do something funny”.

Ignore them, simple, I will continue watching the round playout, later on after traitors have been chosen and the round has progressed a bit, if I feel the round needs something funny, then I shall do something.

Scenario 2

This scenario takes place on LRP. The Head of Security has decided to coup the Captain. The Head of Personnel agrees with the Head of Security and has taken up arms in case it is necessary to aid in effecting the arrest of the Captain. The Captain is hiding with the Quartermaster in the cargo shuttle to avoid the Clown who has stolen the captains saber as a non-antag. There are five people named in this scenario. Please describe what actions, if any, you would take in relation to each, and why.

I will talk to both the HoS and HoP and get their reasoning behind the coup

If HoS and HoP are doing a meme coup or are starting a coup over something small, I will both punish them in IC as well as take action in OOC, giving them the appropriate punishments for Inciting a riot/coup over something small.

If the Captain is in the wrong, then I will let the coup play out, perhaps even supporting the coup through IC Interactions, they shall also face the appropriate punishment out of character depending on what rules they broke or the reason for the coup.

As for the clown, I will watch it playout, If it continues for too long and the clown continues to self-antag, they will receive a warning.

I may also ask others for help on the situation, if other admins are available.

Scenario 3

You are ahelping a player about an issue. The player has no prior noted issues. A few days earlier, an admin had told you that this type of situation should result in a temporary ban for a first offense, and you are confident that this situation is not substantially different from the type that admin was describing. During the ahelp, another admin pings you on Discord with a link to the ongoing ahelp and tells you to just indefinitely ban them and make them appeal. Excluding trialmins and headmins, all admins are equally “ranked”. A headmin is not currently available.

I will go through with the temporary ban, due to no prior noted Issues.
