Hiding the back slot

Intro:
I always feel confused when considering why it’s there. Apparently you can’t use it unless you’re wearing a hardsuit or armor, but it’s always there. It doesn’t meet my need for simplicity.

Reason:
The slot can’t be used unless a certain condition is met, and it has no description or official name. Some call it the armor slot. Is it necessary to have it always visible like other usable slots?

Proposal 1:
Some equipment adds additional slots, so this slot could be just added by equipment.
Proposal 2:
The slot would be grayed out until it’s enabled by some piece of equipment (if this is necessary)

Another alternative is that when you hover over an item, it also highlights compatible inventory slots in the UI.
This can be done completely client-side. And there is already a system to give feedback as to what does and does not fit on a slot by making its ghost appear green.
