In general: You just have to wait it out sadly. Also obviously don’t drink so much alcohol that you get it for a while.

Also by “hurts” do you mean it makes you physically sick irl?

I tend to not get hangovers too much, and the secret is prevention - the big issue with hangovers is dehydration, chug a bunch of water when you get in from a night out before you sleep and you’ll feel significantly better in the morning

Next time you drink get some food in your system, it’ll soak up the alcohol and it won’t hit AS bad.

Also water. Water is important.

I have the perfect solution, but most people don’t want to hear it. Simply never drink alcohol ever again :upside_down_face:

Best way that works it go give yourself IV fluids. As not many people can do this, the worst way that works is to start drinking again. (beer preferably or low ABV drinks)

There is a few ways to help prevent a hangover from being as bad.

  1. Food
  • Carbs or simply eating bread will help. I don’t know the science of it or the reason, but carbs will generally make you feel better in a faster recovery. Stay away from sugar as you get crashes of both alcohol and sugar. Not fun.
  1. Water
  • This is something that I’ve seen a lot of people don’t do when drinking and why hangovers get so bad. People just don’t drink water when drinking. It is still something that your body needs and you can’t just replace it with alcohol. Water is still a very fundamental thing that our body needs, so drink water.
  1. Time
  • The only way to stop alcohol and hangovers from getting way worse is by knowing your limit and when to stop. Alcohol is yes, a way to get drunk, but too much can still be deadly and may cause issues in the future. Even if you stop drinking, your blood alcohol will in fact rise over time as it is digested, but will eventually reach the point where it will slowly go down and you will recover.

Recovering from a hangover is the same as what is above, just when you are recovering, put down the bottle and let your body digest everything it went through the last night.

I always try to prepare before going to bed. I fill a big water jug, gather snacks that won’t upset my stomach, and have ginger ale on hand, along with some medications like Tums for nausea and headache relief.

Sometimes, I’ll take a small sip of whatever I was drinking to “hair of the dog” and help ease my hangover.
