how many players have a lot of hours but not good at combat more specifically
because combat is kind of a side thingy not the main thingy it’s a roleplaying game Afterall
I just to know how many people can actually fight well in game and how common it is to get absolutely Floor wiped by 1 guy especially vs nukies
playing against and as a nukie
Even the most metagamiest self-antagiest tider will fail against nukies due to lag and the mechanical advantages items provide. Sure there’s stuns, but those go both ways.
This is true. Due to rapid pixel based movement good luck killing nukie with soap and a bat(like many clowns in ss13 can)
there is still some tricks. Most robust role is chemist. Since you can make emp, china lake class bombs, sleep bombs, insta death darths etc. But it do take skill to throw it in just the right time and dont die to nukies
That’s where meme about clown defeating nukies come from. Clown is allmost the most strong thing in a grid based movement. Due to being master of menus, sleeping and quick thinking due to grieffing HoS on regular basis(if you are a clown HoS must hate you by the end of round, otherwise whats the poiint?)
My gimmick was break into sec, slipping and restraining HoS. Then using scissors to make them bald and if i could steal their ID, break into hop and rename it to Head of Baldness. Then return id and run!
P.S. I was KoS for most of the round many times. HoS players in 13 are meanies
But no people are not robust at all. Like soap and slipping nerf(cannot slip on thrown banana) is a prof of that.
Its was nerfed into ground by nature of pixel based movement(it is way more op on grid). And people cried OP.
Damn soap was nerfed into a ground and people still say its op(its super hard to restrain anyone with zipties while using normal soap). And its still claimed to be OP.
I think of SS14 as more relaxed, modern players friendly game. Like its pretty chill
The game does not have that high of a skill ceiling and does not reward being “robust”.
You don’t really get any more value out of the game for being better at combat.
I remember there used to be one player that went above and beyond, exploiting as much as was available for quite some spectacles. But that was when said exploits where in game. And it was not very fun to be in the receiving end.
