Is the Wizards "Show off your powers" equivalent to "die a glorious death" when it comes to server rules

In a round yesterday, a wizard announced that they would be helping out security with their powers, but as a wizard is classified as an antagonist, it is generally understood for antagonists not to be generally helpful to the crew (so they may spice up the round), and arguments about if the security wizard would violate server rules arose.

This lead me to think more about how the server rules apply to wizards. I managed to see what wizard’s goals are on the end of round screen, namely to survive and to show off their powers.

Since the wizard has an objective to show off their powers, it could be interpreted or misunderstood to allow the wizard to be helpful to show their powers. It could also be interpreted, correctly or incorrectly, to encourage wizards to engage in mass station destruction or mass murders. In both of these interpretations, it could be possible for a wizard to violate server rules in an effort to complete their goal.

For more examples, a wizard could try to smite every single station crew member, or to fireball containment field equipment. In the opposite example, a wizard could try to help chefs and chemists with a wand of carp polymorph, or to be the ultimate magical paramedic with some ethereal jaunts, blinks and void applauses.

More generally, what are the limits of wizards according to server rules (both LRP and MRP)

We discussed this internally and the consensus is that the Wizard is Die a Glorious Death equivalence but should actually try to not die.

The Wizard is an antagonist and is expected to antagonize the station in some capacity too, so we don’t want to see overtly friendly wizards, but if they “stealth” their way into the crew to do stuff, it’s fine.

The clarifications are appreciated, hopefully this’ll help avoid misunderstandings in the future.
