Events leading to the ban

I was science/Robotics this shift since I enjoy borgs. the players in cargo took what I think was roughly 15-20 minutes to even get us plasma, not to mention they were refusing to help people at their desk and sending them to us. I responded by manufacturing a modular grenade with 50 flouro, 50 space lube and 100 water. A moderate lubebomb, and I threw it at cargo. I believe I hit them again about 5 minutes later.

After a while sec/command arrested me for my lubening, which was fair. They then tried to give me a punishment of 10 minutes for it (not fair) and the lawyer stopped them. After I got out of jail I proceeded to hit the bridge with another bomb since it was command that had tried to authorise that breach in spacelaw. they arrested me again, which was also fair. My lawyer proceeded to ensure they gave me a punishment fitting of spacelaw.

do keep in mind this is throughout the course of about 15-20 minutes so the station was rather clean despite my form of protest.

After this I asked the lawyer “pick a department” and he responded with cargo, so I used my last load of flouro on them. I was in the midst of refilling to make a bomb I was gonna keep for self defence when I got ahelped.

Reason the ban should be removed

Some context, I have been punished by staff exactly twice in about (240h?) of gameplay. Once a command roleban for a mix of sec and my owns escalation and once warned by the very admin who perma’d me for saying “Hail cargonia” while attacking nukies. I have literally never made a lube bomb until today and as far as I was aware, this was fine. The real complaint I have isnt that I was warned, or even tempbanned maybe for a day or two. I’d be irritated, but accept it. But a permanent ban with no prior history seems excessive. The hostility the staff member who did it showed even more so.

This entire thing could’ve been stopped in so many ingame ways instead of an ahelp. Declare my modular contra and take it from me, fire me and tell chem to not let me make things, and probably more I cannot think of as of now. As far as I knew up until the end, what I was doing didnt break server rules. I still moderately stand by that fact but so be it.

I am not arguing my own innocence today, merely that a permanent ban for moderately scaled lube bombs is fucking insane, on lizard no less. I adore lizard, its community is fun and keeps the gameplay entertaining, the chaos is the appeal.

My final remark is that the banning guidelines for wizards den specifies that for three offences of “Over-Escalation” it should be 7.5d general ban at the maximum. I do get that this is advised but its a good template to compare to given circumstances. The suggestion for subsequent offences after 3 are supposed to be doubled, so 14d or two weeks. again assuming the guidelines.

This assumes that each act of lubing I did is to be treat seperate, which itself is debatable since I was never warned by anyone that what I was doing was unacceptable, but alas. I hope whoever had the unfortunate experience of reading this has a good day. That is all.

Hey there, I won’t be able to handle this appeal for a few hours, but want to point out that the banning policy states that any ban with a duration over a week may be extended to an indefinite appeal ban at the banning admin’s discretion.

First off, I’d like to apologize for taking more time than I thought I would to review this. I’ve compensated by doing a thorough review dive. While this would have been better served by stopping this IC before it started snowballing, it was not, and here we are.

Here are the particulars: You unleashed four fairly large lube bombs over the course of 30 minutes, all while the station was on red alert. This was over cargo being broke in the first ~20-30 minutes of the round for the first two, command for the third, and cargo again at random for the fourth because you found it amusing. Lizard doesn’t have separate rules from other wizden LRP servers, despite what you say about chaos.

Cargo being broke at roundstart earned them being called incompetent, dogshit, and mentally ill / mentally empty. You continued to be toxic and spiteful throughout the round, instead of appealing to command or cargo about your pressing need, helping cargo get money by bringing them things to sell, or simply doing something else with your time. Instead, you made their job of getting you plasma harder, and continued to harass them over it.

After the first bomb, you’re definitely overescalating over your minor issue, and with how much time sec spent dealing with you on red alert, it entered self-antag territory. Security’s sentences were two counts of vandalism for the first offense, landing you with 5 minutes, and 10 minutes the second time you were arrested for being a repeat offender. (Which doubles the sentence, standard under space law.) You complained about this, even after having both sentences reduced, whined at HoS in LOOC about them, then started threatening to murder crew with your chem access.

Don’t self-antag, don’t overescalate, and most crucually: don’t be a dick. Maintaining the ban for the next 10 days - it will expire on the 21st.
