Rosemary Swift had always dreamed of reporting on the goings-on aboard Nanotrasen’s fine fleet of stations. Unfortunately, Reporter internships don’t pay well, especially when you’re trying to make ends meet planetside. After some abortive attempts to make the gig work, she gave up and switched to custodial work, where Rosemary found great friends and fulfillment in keeping stations ticking in a very thankless but felt way.
Rosemary believes that cleaning places helps maintain order on stations, and convinces people passively to not abandon hope or abandon ship so quickly. In her words, “I’m basically a psychologist if you think about it.” She wants what she does to be useful to others and fears being irrelevant. When in her element, Rosemary feels important and valued, even when she’s not large and in charge. When what she does has no effect, she has a tendency to become exasperated and give in to the same desires she tries to prevent – to give up and abandon ship.
