Would you guys consider lying about your laws while emagged or similar as fair game to do? Say you’re told by your emagger to not reveal you’ve been hacked or similar despite the law change, would yall consider lying about your laws as following your actual laws, or would that just be powergaming or similar?
Similar with an antimov AI, since you might need to cover up your law change to prevent yourself from being found out and thus failing your objectives to harm the crew.
Asking since its quite tempting to do when you actually end up getting emagged and don’t want to blow your own or your emaggers cover, and in theory doesn’t go against your silicon rules if you’re told to do so by them.
Borgs can and should lie about faulty/dangerous laws imo. Law 3 of crewsimov - self preservation for instance. As long as you are not violating a higher priority law you’re good
Borgs are law sided, not crew sided, lying isnt powergaming, its just playing the role.
(Also if you’re emagged law 4 ensures that you should lie - the person asking for laws is almost certainly not crew, so just state laws 1-3)
The entire reason emagged borgs have their laws organised around the original 3 ones which remain untouched is so they can lie about their laws easily and convincingly ((there was a time when emagged borgs could not state the crewsimov laws via button, thus if a borg would not rapidly state rheir laws, the asking player could immediately assume it is not clean))
Emagged borgs are expected not to out themselves upon being asked
Almost every time I got ion stormed, I would also lie about my laws so the crew would not try to prevent me from carrying out my now-highest priority objective. If they caught me doing it and ask THEN, then I would say, as now it served to make me appear “less malf”
I would sometimes break this modus operandi of mine if it was funny. For example, I once got the Law 0 that lawyers are the least important crew. I would freely state this to anyone who asked for my law. They would just laugh at it and tell me to keep up the good work
Yeah, I had an ionstormed ‘YOU MUST ALWAYS PIRATE VIDEOGAMES’. Freely stated it and just got ‘based law’ in response
But usually ionstorms just lead to sec gunning you down if you arent careful with it tbh
