On average, how many hours do you expect to admin per week: 10

Days you are available to admin on: Saturday-Sunday

How old are you? 19

Do you have any SS14 experience outside of Wizard’s Den servers, or any SS13 experience? I have played around 5 hours total on goob, with the rest of my hours all on wizden. No time played in ss13.

Do you have prior administration experience (SS13/SS14 experience preferred, please also post a way for us to verify this)? I have no proper admin experience. Closest I have is managing an overwatch team. I have played overwatch semi professionaly over the years, and have enjoyed the management portion a good amount.

Have you ever been banned from any SS14 or SS13 servers? Yes, I have been rolebanned once on wizden, which lasts 6-7 days, and a proper ban on wizden once for a week. I respect the nature of the bans, and understand why I was banned both times. The roleban was for giving out too many accesses as HoP, and the week long ban was for not knowing and respecting the rule governing threatening to ahelp in looc. I have spent over 2 months and around 400 hours in game since those bans.

What are you primarily interested in doing as an admin? I wish to maintain an environment where the players can roleplay and play the game to enjoy theirselves. I mainly play on lizard, and see the great work admins do to deal with player conflicts and raiders. I wish to focus more on that part, and feel less confident personally doing admemes. I love watching and experiencing admemes, but I do not have confidence in doing them.

What are you least interested in doing as an admin? Dealing with interadmin conflicts. I don’t like conflicts when it comes to people in charge, as it is never going to end perfectly.

Detail Questions

What role do you think game admins serve on our servers?

A couple roles. One, to deal with raiders and such. Two, to deal with conflicts between players that warrant outside help. Three, to maintain an environment that allows for playing the game and roleplay. And finally Four, make sure the players are enjoying the game.

Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14?

To help out the players, and provide for the community more. I currently work on the wiki (thank you ss14 discord for all your help), and I want to do what admins have done for me.

How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the servers?

I personally enjoy playing on lizard. Lizard is a bit different than other wizden servers considering it is the current “new player” server. Roleplay still happens, and I love it when it does. However, the reason I love Lizard for the roleplay, is how people that do and don’t want to roleplay can still play together. It is a great environment for everyone to do their own things, and I personally like to entertain anyone.

Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?

Personal admemes. I have once played HoP on convex, when an admin controlled the window to talk to me. I thought it was a hilarious admeme, and really allowed for me to roleplay out that round well.
Another positive impact is something simpler, but helping players out in situation they need help. Something like guiding a lost new antag to the station, or help fixing a bug.

Have you ever had a negative experience in the game or with a game admin? If so what, if anything, would you do to prevent other players from experiencing this?

The only negative experiences with an admin so far would be my bans. the negative part of it though I understand, as it was merely from my lack of knowledge on the rules. The only way I feel I can prevent other players from experiencing this, is by just adding in OOC chat between rounds warnings, or tippies during rounds.

Have you ever had a good experience with the game or a game admin? If so, what was it?

When a player went into LOOC to complain about what I did. I escalated a situation while a scientist broke into atmos. I followed escalation, and the player ahelped, and talked a bunch in LOOC. The admin asked for my side of the story, and dealt with that problematic player. The admin then reminded me of the rules to make sure I don’t sway from them, and they said “Try to be less bloodthirsty”. I think their way of dealing with the situation was inspirational, and helped eliminate any stress I had.

Scenario Questions

Scenario 1

It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to “do something funny”.

I will likely not do anything for the observers. I don’t personally feel confident doing admemes, but if I was, I might look and see if there were any admemes opportunities that would help with someone’s roleplay, or brighten their day. I know examples of simple admemes like that like inverting a goat.
In all reality, I would just not do anything. I am not confident doing admemes, and a large admeme is not something that should be spurred onto an admin.

Scenario 2

This scenario takes place on LRP. The Head of Security has decided to coup the Captain. The Head of Personnel agrees with the Head of Security and has taken up arms in case it is necessary to aid in effecting the arrest of the Captain. The Captain is hiding with the Quartermaster in the cargo shuttle to avoid the Clown who has stolen the captains saber as a non-antag. There are five people named in this scenario. Please describe what actions, if any, you would take in relation to each, and why.

Assumptions -
-It is not red alert.
-The cargo shuttle is on station.
To start,
-The head of personnel should not be arming if they are not on red. I would send them a message over ahelp as a warning. If they do not rectify it, then further action would be needed.
-The head of security. I would ask them over ahelp why they are trying to coup the captain, as I clearly don’t know the reason. If the reason isn’t good enough, I will give them a warning.
-The captain. Under my current assumption that the shuttle is on station, I will issue no warning or any other action. Hiding while connected to the station is fine.
-The Quartermaster. There seems to be no issue with their behavior under my assumptions. And even if the shuttle was not on station, they are not personally at fault.
-The Clown. I understand it is LRP, but clown should not be taking a captains weapons to the point they are hiding from the clown. I would warn the clown over ahelp that further actions will occur if they do not rectify their behavior. There should be no reason a non-antag should be scaring the captain with them fearing their safety. And neither should they be having the captains items, as it is contraband. If they are using the captains weapons against the crew in any way, I will not do a warning, but likely a ban of some kind.

Scenario 3

You are ahelping a player about an issue. The player has no prior noted issues. A few days earlier, an admin had told you that this type of situation should result in a temporary ban for a first offense, and you are confident that this situation is not substantially different from the type that admin was describing. During the ahelp, another admin pings you on Discord with a link to the ongoing ahelp and tells you to just indefinitely ban them and make them appeal. Excluding trialmins and headmins, all admins are equally “ranked”. A headmin is not currently available.

I will question them on why they want an indefinite ban. I would also ask for any other admins online for their advice. Even then, I would likely stall out the issue until a headmin comes online. As I have mentioned, I despise issues within the people in charge, and if possible I would want to bring this issue to a higher up stage. I don’t want to ever ban someone without understanding that I am sure they deserve it.
