Ban reason:Failed to connect to server: Connect denied: You, or another user of this computer or connection, are banned from playing here. Length of ban:Indefinite Ban Issue: I do not know why I was banned
Events leading to the ban
The ban message is longer than 200 characters, the extra reads:
The ban reason is: Metacomms with cantthinknobrains : round(#78555) present in video posted in discord with proof of metacomms: the perils of a space chef - Clipped with Medal.tv" This ban will only be removed via appeal. You can appeal at https://appeal.ss14.io Attempts to circumvent this ban such as creating a new account will be logged.
So I did join the moth ghost role, but when viewing that clip link I am taken to a clip of two strangers screaming. I was never in a call with either of those players and am willing to speak with someone to prove it isn’t my voice. If you want to keep a partial ban only on the lizard server I wouldn’t mind. Thank you
Reason the ban should be removed
I believe you are mistaking me for another person who may be a streamer or content creator’s friend. I have no connection to cantthinknobrains & was not aware of their ingame motives.
Further viewing of the clip reveals the chatbox where a borg was screaming at me to dock the ship. I was following the text of robot Sir Salvo, unaware that anyone was using voice communications.
While we were looking into this, you attempted to evade your ban so…
Due to your attempt to evade your ban, you are banned indefinitely. You may appeal your ban, but only at least 6 months after your last ban evasion attempt, and only with a voucher of good behavior from another SS13/SS14 server.
A voucher of good behavior should be obtained from a well-known or decently active SS13/SS14 server. If it is a mainstream server, we recommend using that server’s admin-help to ask for a voucher from one of the administrators explaining that you are trying to appeal a ban on SS14’s Wizard’s Den and want to show you have been a problem-free player during your playtime on the server. A voucher should be indicative of at least a few months of play. If the voucher is not from a mainstream server, let us know and we will figure out a way to verify it.
In light of recent events and for any future admin that may have to look into this case I will make a full recap of what happened:
The admin team received this clip which appears to showcase your character with another person on a shuttle swarmed by carps. The audio has 2 individuals screaming as a reaction.
This was seen as compelling evidence that you were engaged in metacommunications with another player. Something which is in in violation of our rules.
You filed this appeal claiming that the 2 screaming individuals in the video are unrelated to you. If this had been proven successfully, it would indeed be grounds for your ban to be lifted, however the events that I am about to explain have made this impossible.
After filing this appeal, you went on our discord server and solicited advice on how to evade your ban. This was compounded with you talking about explicit topics on a 13+ server. This behavior led to you being banned from our discord server.
Our rules state the following under rule 1.6 - Do not attempt to evade bans
Almost all bans may be appealed on our forums at forum.ss14.io in the ban appeals section. This is generally the only acceptable way to contact the administration team to discuss your ban and revise it if it is inappropriate, including if it is mistakenly applied.
Any attempt to circumvent or bypass a game ban will result in a voucher ban.
… Exceptions
There are no exemptions for evading or attempting to evade game bans.
Your ban message, which you have read in order to make your appeal, states the following:
You can appeal at https://appeal.ss14.io Attempts to circumvent this ban such as creating a new account will be logged.
You attempted to evade your ban.
Per points 5 through 7, your Appeal was denied for ban evasion. A voucher requirement is placed for future appeals in accordance with our rules.
Throughout all this, you appear to have been under the assumption that there has been no issue with your behavior. Even if we take your claim that the ban reason is incorrect as fact, your behavior after the ban has shown a complete disregard for our rules and has only caused issues for our community.
Due to all the above, we do not believe that your presence in our community will in any way benefit it. The previous decision is upheld. You may appeal in the future after meeting the requirements laid out by AdmiralObvious.
