So I’ve been playing SS14 on my steam deck in desktop mode lately ( My computer is broken right now ), and everything works fine except the instruments, I can’t hear any music.
This isn’t that big of a deal but I’d still like to be able to hear music.
I get a message telling me that I should install fluidsynth, but FOR THE LIFE OF ME I cannot figure it out.
I tried to install it through Capman on the konsole but it tells me that the files are either non-valid or corrupted ?
I’m really not into programming and stuff so I’m struggling a bit, is there anyone else that tried to do this that can help me ?
Thanks in advance.
By default, SteamOS is read only. Which means pacman won’t work.
I (sadly) don’t have a steam deck, so I can’t confirm this will work. But try following this. This will set up pacman on the steam deck so you can use it and then you can try installing fluidsynth again with pacman sudo pacman -S fluidsynth
.
According to Valve, whatever you install may get wiped by the next update. So keep that in mind. And may get your Steam Deck into a bad state or compromise your data if you are not careful.
hey, thanks for the reply !
I unfortunately already did this fix thanks to this reddit post.
After that I get this ( It’s in french Im sorry about that ).
In the comments of that Reddit post it suggests also running sudo pacman-key --populate holo
too in some cases before sudo pacman -Syu
. A case you seemed to have stumbled onto.
Am I good to launch the game now?
(yes)
Lol
It worked thanks ! ( I can’t believe it was that easy ).
