Nukie Gimmick: Oppenhopper 2

I’ve had this idea for months now, but I’ve never been able to roll nukie commander in order to put this plan into action. I’m putting this out here so anyone can take this idea or make something similar out of it. For obvious reasons, this might only work on MRP.

Instead of normal warops, you use the war declarator to notify the station that a production company(your team) is on their way to film a live-action version of Oppenhopper, the famous and well-known movie in-universe(no kidding, there are posters for it), and you’re on your way to discuss the terms of the project with their captain as well as compensation for the venue. (can probably use lobbying bundle for this, better than lobbyops)

If there are admins online and willing to help, you can probably do a TC trade(which you are DEFINITELY not lacking in because of war) for cameras, floodlights, etc. Otherwise, you can just say you lost your filming equipment and require the station’s cameras. Other things you’ll need include chameleon bundles, agent IDs(to not get shocked out by AI), and a clown bundle(for access from clown ID). Maybe noslips too, just for tradition.

Once you’ve landed, greeted the captain and (hopefully) come to an agreement, then your team can don their “costumes” (nukie armour), and equip their “highly accurate replicas”(the rest of your contraband) and start the show. After this, it’s all up to you and the station crew to roleplay it out, shoot scenes and rig explosions and destruction, all that. Examples can include, shooting with rubber bullets, “hiring” peoplewho give you extra TC for “props” onto your team,(likely to be syndicate aligned), lots and lots of dialogue, etc. If you want to end the deception, you can go loud and start killing everyone, but that really isn’t the fun route.
As long as you end with an explosive finale, your objective will be done in a fun way that everyone can participate in for the entire round, which is a great change from the usual warops/nukies in general.

i think this’ll require admin intervention if you want any chance of the crew playing along properly, since command isn’t allowed to let themselves lose nukeops - the admin will need to give them permission to do so, afaik, same as quizops and chessops. but i think with that support this could be a pretty interesting gimmick!

thats a good point honestly, you could circumvent this by having command mysteriously disappear in the process, but that would require a lot more robustness and work to put in

This could happen on a lrp. I mean, once, the nukies had a court case and trail to explain why they should be allowed to blow up the station. And the command had to explain why the nukies were wrong.

We redid the bar area, made it into a court room. Had walls up and seating available.

And had one idiot bomb the audience. Admin quickly killed them.
Engie quickly patched the hole. And me, being the janitor, quickly cleaned the mess.
Like, the damage that was done was fixed in less than 3 minutes and we were able to go back to the court case.

In the end, the ruling was to have the Captain and the lead nukie fight in the boxing ring.

God, it was fun and crazy.

Anyway, point is, it could be done on a lrp.
