Nukie Metashield - How much of myth are they?

What exactly being a myth that nobody would act on is supposed to mean?

Is it that nukies are so rare that nobody would prepare for their attack just in case ahead of time?

Is it that people should be in denial of their existence even as crew reports sightings of them?

So many times you get wardens that have alert level instead of brain and will argue with assembled sec force in front of armory that nothing will be done till its red red alert(usually also won’t check themselves using any of consoles, ask AI or even let sec get hardsuits for space patrol. :godo:), while I was told good while ago(from before shield) by admin that sec responds to threats and alert level is command problem to care.

Should such callouts be treated by warden as legitimate potential threat, crew going crazy or they are free to treat is as IC issue and go either way?

If its meant to be rule ONLY preventing preparing for nukies ahead time, it would be great if shield got modified slightlly to make it more clear that sec should take them at very least as real potential threat when called out. And/or they are simply so rare you do not prepare for them rather than “they are not real”. Especially when there is so much nukie merch and propaganda already on station usually.

So uh, day or two ago we had nukies, we basically found them out at like 7th minute of shift. We did not know strictly IC that it was nukies(OOC who else could have syndie circular saw :godo:) but we knew they were armed syndicate invaders(Liked last few admemes with reinforcement invaders by the way ) from space due to evidence they left behind.

For 20 minutes HoS, AI, Cap, HoP would not do jack shit to warn any crew or raise alarm to blue, threat was pretty much as ignored as it gets from my POV. HoS even denied opening disablers for cadets and secoffs. At evac when chatting with crew about how command fumbled their part for so long on station security I remembered HoS part it really made me want ahelp on competence, so I did. Admin deemed it just IC issue.

So while not directly answer in this thread from admin here in this thread, it was much more than just someone calling out nukies and if that was IC issue then people can be as much in denial about nukies till credible enough IC sources confirm it, like being magdumped in face with L6. I do not think I thanked the admin at the time in ahelp for answer, so im doing it here should you see it.

You probably saved a good bunch of wardens from my bitching. :godo:

It also probably means competence rulebreak for sec is basically only for purposefully getting crew harmed or maliciously abusing them on top of all other things one would get banned for?
