Events leading to the ban

(NOTE: I have taken the liberty of rewriting my original appeal after HazelHyena stated my original appeal “reads like AI garbage”. I do not use nor condone the use of AI as a replacement for writing but have nonetheless rewritten my appeal.)

I do not remember the specific round number but I began the round as an assistant on Plasma station on the Leviathan server. Before the captain arrested me, I spent time messing around with (slipping) them and trading with them (they received the ponderous orb while I got the highly illegal syndicate shark). The initial RD of the round went SSD and a new one was either a promoted scientist or late-joined (I don’t exactly remember the circumstances). The captain and members of security gave the new RD the initial RD’s belongings but left the hand-held teleporter in the initial RD’s pockets. The captain and sec then left the initial RD’s character in front of HOP on a chair in the middle of the station.

I stole the teleporter from the SSD RD and placed a portal by a plasma pool as I was unfamiliar with how the teleporter itself worked. I cleared the portal after some trial and error, and then used the hand-held teleporter in front of the entrance to bridge. The captain happened to be right across the glass airlock and saw that I had the teleporter. The captain then proceeded to arrest me and take me to security. After doing the customary search of removing all my belongings and the items in my pockets, including the hand-held teleporter, the captain then proceeded to remove my jumpsuit causing my character to become fully nude. Up until then, I was not used to security or the captain fully stripping someone “bare-bones” and yelled the line which caused my indefinite ban.

Reason the ban should be removed

I fully accept the reason for my indefinite ban. I believe the ban should be removed or reduced for three main reasons:

1. In my time spent playing on Wizden servers (over 900 hours) this is the first instance of any form of rule infraction or bwoink or issue with the admins of Wizden.

2. Throughout my time spent playing I have trained countless people on atmospherics, engineering, cargo, salvaging, medicine, and numerous service roles such as bartending or botany. The training for these departments and jobs occurred over my time spent playing on the Hopper (R.I.P.) and Leviathan servers. Stemming from my irl job/work, I find great enjoyment in teaching others new concepts or ideas and it is something that I wish to continue on Wizden servers (SS14 has a rather steep learning curve after all).

3. HazelHyena requested I do it “from the heart” so here: Two weeks ago marked one year since my father died. SS14 has been a pleasant distraction in dealing with this given my fond memories of interactions, moments, and teaching new players. Of course there have been less-than-positive interactions, as is typical of a multiplayer game, but in this case the positives far outweigh the negatives.
