In-game Username: powder
Discord username: powderuuf
Characters you play: Powsune Powsu

On average, how many hours do you expect to admin per week: 7+

Days you are available to admin on: All weekdays and weekends. (Excluding holidays and days where I’m extra busy!)

How old are you? 20

Do you have any SS14 experience outside of Wizard’s Den servers, or any SS13 experience? I did! I used to play on various servers like Frontier, Park Station, Pax, and more. However, despite exploring so many, I never found one that truly felt like the right fit for me. That’s why I’ve come to appreciate the simplicity of wizden.

Do you have prior administration experience (SS13/SS14 experience preferred, please also post a way for us to verify this)? I do have experience, though unfortunately, I’m unable to provide a means of verification.

Have you ever been banned from any SS14 or SS13 servers? Yes, I was banned from Park Station after raising a case against a server administrator, which ultimately resulted in their removal from their position. I believe the ban was retaliatory, though I cannot confirm the official reasoning as the server is no longer accessible to me through the hub.

I may have also been banned from other communities, but to the best of my knowledge, I am not currently aware of any others. Additionally, I may have been banned from the Singularity Network’s Discord due to a conflict of interest on their part. This led to my termination from a Trial Moderator position, which was not related to my performance on their server but rather stemmed from external community drama unrelated to the server itself. The termination was issued by “Todd Howard”.

What are you primarily interested in doing as an admin? in-game rule enforcement, ban appeals, out-of-game rule enforcement, possibly events.

What are you least interested in doing as an admin? I’m least interested in activities that require a significant amount of social effort, such as handling public relations or participating in large meetings and discussions. As an introvert, those aspects aren’t my strong suit.

Detail Questions

What role do you think game admins serve on our servers?

The purpose of a game admin/community moderator is to uphold and enforce community regulations and guidelines, as well as assist user(s) in resolving conflicts in a fair and unbiased manner. Occasionally stepping in directly to uphold a finalizing outcome.

Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14?

Simple! Because I have absolutely nothing better to do with my life. The primary reason I’ve ever done anything online was for a distraction from an otherwise mundane life. I’ve been doing this kind of thing for years with other projects! From maintaining wikis of open source projects, to administrating games and servers. I’ve always had some sort of way to escape from the world. And that’s exactly why I’m applying here! I have little to no conflict of interests, goals that could create a bias at the detriment of the community. Or any secret revenge plots. (xD) I tend to remain logical and direct. With a strong focus on remaining unbiased for the most part. And even when I’ve identified that I might not be best suited to resolve a particular scenario. I would contact another administrator for assistance.

How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the servers?

I personally prefer MRP, as I find LRP servers tend to be a bit too chaotic. I don’t think EORG should be a thing, and I’d rather not deal with players metagrudging against me for not recalling the shuttle after the entire station was overrun by a ninja, for example. Ultimately, this game is about having fun, and I feel MRP offers a better balance for that compared to LRP servers.

Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?

I enjoy answering questions, assisting new players, and being part of the story as a Central Command Supervisor. As for handing out punishments, that’s a separate matter. My main priority is the game itself and ensuring everyone has a good experience.

Have you ever had a negative experience in the game or with a game admin? If so what, if anything, would you do to prevent other players from experiencing this?

Yes, though not within Wizden. I’ve had some less than pleasant experiences with most servers I’ve tried to participate in. While I’ve encountered some drama surrounding Wizden, I generally try to distance myself from such issues. There are a few individuals who disagree with my views and mindset, and while I’ve always made an effort to be courteous, sometimes it’s just not possible to maintain a positive relationship with everyone.

Have you ever had a good experience with the game or a game admin? If so, what was it?

Yep! The game has a similar feel to Oaustranauts but without the heavy focus on salvage. It’s much more immersive, especially when admin events take place, adding an extra layer to the experience.

Scenario Questions

Scenario 1

It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to “do something funny”.

Traitors are USUALLY selected later on in the round. I would wait at minimum, 15 minutes, before manually selecting traitors (if necessary).

As for the three ghosts, it would depend on how I felt in the moment, for example:

If I’m feeling like it, than I might send out an admeme vote and, if successful, I could change up the round a bit. Maybe hire health inspectors, do something special for the traitors, the possibilities are endless.

If I’m not feeling like it, or there’s a legitimate reason not to, for example it may drastically impact the round in-progress: Than I’d decline, but invite the ghosts to follow me around me around.

Scenario 2

This scenario takes place on LRP. The Head of Security has decided to coup the Captain. The Head of Personnel agrees with the Head of Security and has taken up arms in case it is necessary to aid in effecting the arrest of the Captain. The Captain is hiding with the Quartermaster in the cargo shuttle to avoid the Clown who has stolen the captains saber as a non-antag. There are five people named in this scenario. Please describe what actions, if any, you would take in relation to each, and why.

Circumstantial.

The provided scenario DOES NOT specify exact reasons for a coup. As such, there are four potential outcomes.

If the coup is justified within the bounds of server rule “Listen to your teamleader”, and space law (For example, the captain gives stupid orders, roleplays a medical issue, or is otherwise making orders that are against the interest of Nanotrasen): Than I would allow it, and potentially intervene within roleplay reason. (For example, the issue was faxed, or the captain is making very stupid announcements, as I assume centcom can see the announcements from the station.)

If the captain violated direct server rules, and fucked up very bad, than it depends on how severe the violation of the rule is, and how heavily it may affect the round. if it’s URGENT/IMPERATIVE to the progress of the round in a negative way, smite the captain. Otherwise, the captain will get a bwoink and informed to correct they’re ways.

If the HoP is unjustified, and the coup, while does not violate server rules, does violate roleplay rules, than an ERT may be sent within roleplay reason. Refer to first answer.

If the HoP and security violated DIRECT server rules, than as an administrator, I would have full justification to issue punishment and bwoink them. Punishments can range from a simple warning, round removal to a job-ban, or worse, depending on specific circumstances.

Scenario 3

You are ahelping a player about an issue. The player has no prior noted issues. A few days earlier, an admin had told you that this type of situation should result in a temporary ban for a first offense, and you are confident that this situation is not substantially different from the type that admin was describing. During the ahelp, another admin pings you on Discord with a link to the ongoing ahelp and tells you to just indefinitely ban them and make them appeal. Excluding trialmins and headmins, all admins are equally “ranked”. A headmin is not currently available.

All admins are equal, as such, I do not HAVE to listen to the advice of others, if I suspect that there may be a conflict of interest, or the punishment might not be the most logical.

This is a really stinky scenario to be in, as it would place a lot of pressure on me, as an administrator.

The most likely outcome is that I’d review the second ahelp, there are two potential outcomes

The second ahelp is relevant to my case, and seems justified. I may issue a temporary or permanent ban based on severity.

The second ahelp has no meaningful value to my current case. Than I’d disregard the opinion of both administrators, and act accordingly to the server rules, opting for minimal punishment because of the conflict of interest.

I would flag the issue for review from a higher authority later.
