PresentAJ - Banned for bigotry/discrimination: Misgendered a player on purpose twice after being corrected, not taking the issue seriously and arguementative in Ahelp

Username: PresentAJ

Ban reason: Banned for bigotry/discrimination: Misgendered a player on purpose twice after being corrected, not taking the issue seriously and arguementative in Ahelp
Length of ban: Indefinite
Ban Issue:
I did what I was banned for, but the ban is unreasonably harsh

Events leading to the ban

A lady playing as clown came by the security checkpoint I was just chilling at and hit it with a walking stick, I didn’t know it was a walking stick so I went to check it out. After I found out she was larping as a blind clown, I asked her if she needed any assistance.

I said, “do you need any assistance sir”, because, frankly, I can’t tell the difference between male a female space lizard clowns, and I’d love to see other people do it.

She corrected me with, “maam”, and me, not caring that much, asked if “it needed any assistance” or something along those lines.

This is where I’m told the problem emerges because for me, I assume this is neutral but they and the admin feel it is.

They then fucked off, swinging their walking stick at everything

Admin contacted me at the end of the round, I got pissed because I was accused of malice misgendering whereas I see it as I was just offering this lady lizard who was larping as a blind clown help.

Reason the ban should be removed

I used “it” as gender neutral pronoun, because you can’t say “does they need any help”, and I only got mad at the admin for being accused of bigotry.

‘do you need any help’
‘can I help you?’
There are many possible ways to respond to this. Perhaps the best one is ‘do you need any assistance ma’am.’ Despite pronouns being easily accessible by shift-clicking, and having been given the correct pronouns to use, you still went ahead with using ‘it.’ Many people would find this dehumanizing.

This probably wouldn’t have been a big deal, but you started arguing about it in the ahelp and sniped at Doru for powertripping and having a ‘social justice cause,’ which really doesn’t help your case or credibility. Your appeal is accepted, in that I’m lowering it to 1 week’s duration instead of leaving it as it is.

Added appeal-accepted and removed appeal-pending

Couldn’t wait the week, huh? Due to your attempt to evade your ban, your week-long ban has been converted into an indefinite, voucher-only ban.

You may appeal your ban, but only at least 6 months after your last ban evasion attempt, and only with a voucher of good behavior from another SS13/SS14 server.

A voucher of good behavior should be obtained from a well-known or decently active SS13/SS14 server. If it is a mainstream server, we recommend using that server’s admin-help to ask for a voucher from one of the administrators explaining that you are trying to appeal a ban on SS14’s Wizard’s Den and want to show you have been a problem-free player during your playtime on the server. A voucher should be indicative of at least a few months of play. If the voucher is not from a mainstream server, let us know and we will figure out a way to verify it.
