Random forum trolls moderating / hiding posts

There’s currently a forum feature enabled where random forum users can hide posts of other people. Not only is this detrimental to discussion, it’s arbitrarily empowering people that just went through a checklist to get unwarranted power over others.

This feature should be turned off to prevent abuse, not like there’s many posts being made for moderators to keep up. It’s not intended to hide posts these trolls personally disagree with, but it’s being abused like that.

If a post gets enough reports, or is reported by enough people (with higher trust users worth more) it temporarily hides the post for short time or until it’s processed by a moderator.

Edit: Apparently it’s just based on trust level not score. Not actually sure how this system works

Isn’t there a special user promotion that is applied after x activity, where they can personally hide posts?

no one person (aside from forum moderators) able to hide post.

No. It is entirely based off of user trust.

An example of this being since I was an admin for a long time with no history of moderation actions against my account.

I would have a higher trust score than someone who made their account two months ago.

This would mean that the system takes my reports with more weight than a month old account.

Though not by much. It would still require others to report the post.

true ive hit a higher trust level and been told that by the Bot
