Round-end "In Custody" status should either be changed or removed

The “In Custody” status at the end of a round should reflect whether someone has been cuffed or placed in a cell at any point during the round, not just if they are in cuffs when the round ends. Current Space Law does not allow security to hold prisoners until the round ends unless it is a perma-able crime. I think that if security arrests antagonists, sentences them appropriately, removes any contraband, and then releases them after the sentence ends, it shouldn’t make security appear incompetent on the round-end screen as if they failed to do their duty.

An easier and perhaps a better option is to remove round-end “In Custody” status all together. I don’t know why it was implemented or when into the game. But, I don’t see any benefits to it. It incentives security to perma all criminals, which was most likely the main reason why perma was so common in LRP before the new Space Law. It suggests every antagonist should be arrested not because they did something bad or broke a law, no just because they are an antagonist. I think it does more harm to the game than good so removing it completely from the game might be the best option.

Very valid points and makes a lot of sense. I think a reason it was added was to prove security was doing something and/or who got caught, but obviously them getting caught only mattered at round end.

Maybe a “Custody Count” would be better? How many times someone was restrained by a Secoff and spent more than 2 or 3 minutes in cuffs (to prevent people from just asking sec ro restrain them over and over to get the counter up). If people wanted to get fancy with the custody count they could spoiler timestamps of when they were arrested probably.

Obviously, just a lil idea that came to mind since it is very nice to see that sec indeed did something and people got caught at some point.

The Custody thing yeah is really annoying and I agree, but what if instead saying oh
“You need to escape to CC unrestrained” how about it says “You need to not be caught ever” [Or something like that] which means if you were ever in jail/prison that task goes from green to red. Like I also hate seeing the end round board and like three syndies get one green mark for escaping to CC.

Also Marzie’s Custody count was also a good Idea.

I think sec should be rewarded(with an end of game “good job”) for how many Sydnis they correctly identified. You could have HoS or Detective mark down confirmed sydnis, in a computer or something,(This could be explained as having them recorded in NT systems)

Sec then has the option to do what they see fit with space law without the need for full round custody and escorting prisoners off the ship.
