i think you’re misinterpreting the rule. The key word is “excessive.” It’s still perfectly valid to kill while having steal objectives and such. There’s also nothing wrong with killing people in order to accomplish a steal objective. Completing it peacefully isn’t a requirement.

Thank you, myself and everyone I’ve spoken to so far have found that rule in particular to be extremely confusing. I think it would benefit quite a bit from being rewritten to be more clear in a few areas.
Also, revs can’t really win the round without killing and gibbing sec usually, but rules as written, you can’t gib sec as they aren’t an objective. This is really a problem for traitors too (As well as traitors not being able to gib validhunters. With revs that is less of a problem because they can at least convert validhunters), but its even worse for revs.
Its generally just a really bad rule in general. If anything should be exempt from “murderboning” rules, it is antags killing and gibbing the people who you know, have the entire job to stop them from completing their objectives.
