What is the DOP?
The DOP is the “Departmental Operating Procedure” my intentions with it are to encourage and foster roleplay within both MRP and LRP servers.
How will it do that?
The DOP will be a drastic change from the SOP of old. Instead of a document that largely only affects security and command, the DOP will affect all departments with guidelines, manuals, protocols, etc.
I plan for the DOP to include a few documents per departments, for things like Command the DOP will offer the “Chain of Command”, for Security “Interogation 101”, for Med “Medical Evaluation Guidelines”!
This sounds like a lot but these will be short and sweet documents that outline how Nanotrasen expects the station to be run. Mind you these are guidelines not rules. I want to encourage roleplay not limit it.

can you also take into considerations how to RP as “traitor” or syndicate in general.
There are many times where I eliminated someone and I was being told “You should’ve RPed more”
How do I RP without giving myself away as a syndicate or risk failing my objectives.
I would love to RP such thing and im very much interested in medium to even high roleplay playstyle but I don’t have any guidelines or ideas to how to act with my in-character. I actually have an idea. But, I want to expand it more for an enjoyable RP prior to death
Maybe a sydicate handbook? Something to give you ideas and motivation outside of just being blindly told to do something. That may be somewhat out of reach of what I am intent on doing but I’ll try to work on something for antagonists
I have implemented guidelines for how guidelines should be written. And explained how roleplay should be encouraged within them.
I hope that this clears some things up with my design doc. But I would really appreciate feedback, and you can also do that in the discord!
A rework of this idea.
So to keep everyone up to date with how this idea is going. The proposal was given a small review and I can see that there are some major underlying issues. So I am reworking the entire idea.
Instead of an operating procedure for both lrp and mrp this will be a solely mrp focused operating procedure.
It will be regulated in character with space law to enforce following of the procedure.

And before anyone asks. No not every procedure is enforced with space law. Only procedures that state that they should be enforced with space law will be.
My reasoning to make this an IC only operating procedure is because that is how historically many servers do it. Even HRP servers such as Auroa Station (which I took many ideas from) enforce it IC. This is also a good way to keep admins from having to do a lot of extra work.
I am hoping for some suggestions and ideas from the community to keep this thing something everyone can be happy with. If you have any ideas or suggestions please put them in this forum thread or on the discord here
