Security Beret Armour

With the security department, it is relatively rare to see experienced security officers wearing helmets, preferring instead to wear a security beret or trooper hat to show their experience and fashion sense.

However, this puts these officers at a mechanical disadvantage due to the fact that helmets provide some damage protection that berets and hats do not. Having these berets and hats woven out of protective material that provides similar damage resistance to standard helmets would allow security to be more protected while not compromising their fashion sense.

if you are robust enough to not need the helmet. you should be able to put yourself at a disadvantage for drip.

You’re actually robust when you are switching between helmet and a beret depending on the situation

There was a PR about this so we maints had a long discussion about it, and voted against. Full reasoning can be read here, but to paraphrase: the actual combat advantage of wearing a helmet on top of sec armor is not much, and it’s a good thing that people get to make the choice of taking that additional measure or not.

yeah, when its green or blue I wear the beret for the drip and to show how cool I am, if there’s an actual threat and I need to lock in the helmet goes on (assuming it doesn’t need hardsuits)

I say keep it as is. I think the conscious choice to choose fashion over increased protection is one I should be able to make.

It’s drip or drown, and brother? I am floating.
