The ban is fair, but I would like a second chance or reduction

Events leading to the ban
As a whitelisted regular of the Hopper server, I was getting an unusual number of antagonist shifts in a row, likely due to the recent increase in new players. As I hadn’t had this many opportunities to try new strategies as a Syndicate, I took the chance to be reckless towards my own safety, planning on doing ‘loud’ tactics in concert with other syndicate operatives.
I was a scientist and happened to have two other scientists as co-conspirators. After confirming our objectives with one another (kill CE, get HoS shotgun, kill musician and chaplain) We met up and found a secluded room in maints to purchase a super surplus crate.
From the crate we got a variety of items, the biggest windfall of which being a juggernaut suit and a china-lake. I’ve had past experience as a nuclear operative before, but never used the china lake personally. (I have seen how destructive it can be on YouTube)
In exchange for these items I gave the other two traitors my remaining TC so they could purchase armor and weapons. As this was relatively early in the shift, this left us with little in the way of backup weapons, specifically, I had no firearms but the CL. We got a handful of grenades and supporting equipment, but only one extra firearm from the surplus crate.
With this loadout, we opted to go to science and print some ammunition for what weapons we did have using an emag from the crate. When we arrived, we ran face-first into the Captain and the HoS. They both ran off without engaging, so we used the time to prepare.
During this time, we had an encounter with an atmos tech. They had a fire axe, which would be a powerful weapon if combat came down to melee for me. I late found out this individual was a syndicate operative themselves. I hadn’t considered this in the anxiety/adrenaline of the lead-up to fighting captain and security. At this point I was worried they would help the captain and security attack us when they arrived.
I asked them to give me the weapon, to which they refused. I told them that they didn’t want to do this, implying I would take the weapon by force. They still refused and began to make some space. When they were in a hallway far enough away from myself and the others around, I threw an incendiary grenade at them which managed to set them mildly on fire.
I quickly grabbed the axe and used it to finish them off before they could retaliate. Shortly afterwards, the Captain arrived and began engaging. I made space, the Captain also doing the same as the two other agents began opening fire.
At this point I believed myself and the agents to be far enough away to avoid being struck by the blast of the CL, so I fired the first shot. It did a good bit of structural damage, but I was able to see the captain fleeing down the large hallway south. I walked into the hallway and proceeded to fire a few more rounds down the hall. I fired some shots in quick succession, in hopes of catching the captain before they could escape. This was a mistake because either due firelocks engaging or perhaps the second shot being detonated by the blast of the first, more than one shot blew either ontop of me or very close to me, doing significant damage to myself and the department and crew around me.
At this point, I was very tunnel-visioned on the captain. When they didn’t return from the hallway I retreated to heal. By now science was being spaced and most of the agents were wounded significantly. We decided to go into medical to get supplies. We emagged in through the adjacent hallway into the back rooms and started healing. The HoS was in medical observing us during this time. He approached the room we were in and eventually opened the door.
I fired a shot through the door to hit the HoS. This likely hit other crewmates in the blast. After some back and forth with the HoS, I brought him down but went down myself. One of the agents suffocated due to the spacing from the blasts. The last agent was able to heal me and himself using what we got from medical. After healing, we were able to return to med and retrieve the HoS shotgun.
At this point, I was mostly or entirely out of shots for the CL. I resorted to the fireaxe gotten earlier while the agent used a stolen security rifle. Captain arrived again alongside a couple of security officers. In an attempt to fend them off with the axe, I died, leaving the last agent.
Reason the ban should be removed
Due to the significant damage to the station and the harm to numerous crewmates that I was blind to, I fully understand the ban and believe it to be fair. I stepped out of line and was far too reckless for Grasshopper server.
That said, I have been a longtime player of the game and have spent significant time teaching players on Grasshopper. I do regret the damage my actions caused and have considered them seriously. I am not requesting that the ban time be removed or reduced.
As this is my first official offense, I would ask that if you could consider not placing a permanent strike on my record. I realize the problems my actions caused in the moment as well as the possible harm from the example I set for others. I do not intend to repeat this offense nor encourage others to do the same and will strive to set a better example going forward.
Thank you for your consideration.
