Builds first joined Nanotrasen as a janitor, and would soon develop an inferiority complex regarding the sheer difference between her ostentatious name and her actual job and qualifications.
One day, a kindly research assistant invited them to help with artifact research after she cleaned the lab and vouched for Builds to be transferred to the Science department after a long shift.
This event has made her very attached to the discipline and grand visions of Science making her take her new role seriously and helping her become proud of her given name.
Builds is often seen wearing winter clothing and smoking as she was born on a volcanic planet and the stations seem just a bit too cold to her.
