Reason for server being Dehubbed:
“I will be dehubbing your server in 24 hours unless the Einstein Engines council either desists in harassing me and upstream Space Station 14, or you choose to leave your involvement in said project.”
Reason the server should be rehubbed:
I, as the representative of Singularity Network forks, have left the EE Council.
Although we were offered a seat on the EE Council early on with the only criteria for joining being “Have an EE fork”, we were never very involved and weren’t fully aware of what was going on in the Discord. At the time that project staff reached out to us, we were not yet aware of the full facts about the situation and regrettably stayed on the EE Council.
I remain committed to upholding hub rule 1 and maintaining a community free of harassment.
For starters, you are still listed as being on the council on the EE Discord. I’m assuming that’s an error on their side?
You were literally encouraging the harassing behavior by ONIKS, along with other council members. Furthermore, you regularly talked in their Discord before the dehub. I’m not buying this.
Furthermore, do not pretend you did not know ONIKS was blatantly acting in bad faith. I know for a fact you have gone out of your way to accept “troublemakers”[1] in spite of all the vile shit these people have done in the past, and you are well aware of ONIKS’ past behavior. I have told you off for this in the past, and I’ll repeat my words again: that reflects on you.
I am going to need more than a simple commitment here, as your last promise did not go anywhere. You’ve continued to spread harassment and misinformation against our community after your first hub strike, and still seem to be completely unaware of what “harassment” actually constitutes.
Regarding the council yes that’ll be an error on them. I only just realised today that they have a message from a bot that lists our servers as council servers, I never knew this even existed so I’ve messaged Death to have those removed.
I’ve kept the Singularity role just in case someone needs to contact me, similar to the role I have in the various busses.
Regarding the Oniks situation, I stand by that I didn’t know they were going to litigate anyone and was under the impression that when they did it was due to hub removal reasons. The first instance I knew about it was this screenshot below which said nothing about CSAM or anything that seems unreasonable. My reply as I’ve explained elsewhere was not a jibe at you or Wizards Den at all and seems to have been misunderstood - It was reference to my conversation in one of the busses regarding mechanically enforcing license compliance rather than relying on user reports entirely. I was quite content with how you handled the license issues actually but the whole process disheartened me towards open source licenses.
My response was mostly in jest hence the emoji (I use them often). I was not involved in the litigation and Oniks did this of their own accord for their own reasons and I regret even being tangentily involved through these screenshots now I know there were additional false accusations.
It was often coincidental that I’d send a message in EE after some other discussions and I’ve been adamant from the start that being on the EE council doesn’t mean anything and never really did. I think EE are starting to realise that now but I don’t really want anything to do with it except for code help since they are still an upstream of three of our codebases. Even then I’m “hard forking” Nuclear14 due to the constant maintenance issues.
Regarding the final part, two problematic staff members have been removed, one from staff, one from the community due to their insensitivity and not following our pretty straight forward and robust rules. Since our appeal we’ve added additional words to our automod and have a pretty strict automod anyway after our last rules update earlier in the year.
I do apologise if you feel I have been harassing anyone on your staff and want nothing more than a cooperative and collaborative space for everyone in this community, as I have done from the start as all the drama and fragmentation just takes away from actually pushing the development forward. Hopefully this appeal is sufficient but if there’s anything additional you’d like to see I’m all ears.
Is this still being discussed? I’m just curious as the first response was pretty fast and it’s been a week, so if we do get a favourable response it would be nice to be able to do something with it for the weekend.
And any info on the process? Does it go to a vote or is it just down to the handling PM?
Understood, I didn’t think it would be appropriate to bump it but given we got a pretty quick initial response I just wanted to be sure it wasn’t forgotten about.
